We were looking for the elusive Ellen's stardust diner... Shattered after a day of walking, we decided to try this instead. Waiters were comical to the point of being rude- meals arrived In dribs and drabs as did the drinks. Food was nothing to write home about and overpriced for what it was. But the ICING on the CAKE was... More

This restaurant was vastly over priced for the quality of meals served. I even found a dead fly in my pasta dish and when this was pointed out to the waiter he apologised. I spoke to the manager after the bill for all 12 of us arrived and she steadfastly refused to deduct the price of the meal from the... More

We went here as the carnigie deli was very busy. First off we were given a table that was wonky and uneven that you could not sit any drinks on it, we asked to be moved and we got a table even worse so we got moved to a very cramped booth. We asked for drinks and when they arrived... More

Dropped in here as a party of 10 - 2 families with kids, looking for dessert options after a meal elsewhere. Shared some cheesecake and apple pie. As a coeliac I was not able to find anything in the menu but the rest of the party seemed to enjoy the food.

The previous night we had visited Ray's pizza. Benash looks really nice from the outside and it was busy inside which is usually a good sign. I was really hungry so I ordered a margarita pizza to take out. Had to wait 20 mins. When I got back to hotel across the road I was gutted when I opened the... More

Planned on going to Carnegie Deli across the street but opted for Benash when we saw the loooong line. While the corned beef was good, the sandwich portions were much smaller than we have had at other deli's but not reflected in the price...very poor value.

Stopped in for a pastrami sandwich because the line at Carnegie deli across the street was unacceptable. I have to say that despite of all the negative reviews here, my pastrami sandwich was absolutely delicious. It was early in the day, about 11:15 am, and the place was almost empty. My waitress was very nice and the pastrami arrived fairly... More

First night in Manhattan hungry and tired. We went to grab some food. (If that is what you can call it). My fish and chips meal arrived. I was served frozen microwaved food. Gordon Ramsey would have had a field day at this Diner. The waiter served us a bottle of water which he took off the shelf and left... More

This is an expensive cafe (as most in this area seem to be). The food was poor. We ordered burgers which were greasy. I also ordered a pizza. It was probably one of the worst I have ever had. I will not be back.

I'm NOT SURE who is cooking, but this food was SO GREASY.. the potatoes had SUCH an overpowering taste of green peppers that it was hard to tell they were potatoes.. The eggs were so greasy that again, not sure I could even taste the eggs.. The servers consistently were badgering the hostess for how she was seating people and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
