Found this restaurant walking down Restaurant Row. It was a day that they offered the fixed price lunch (3 course, limited menu). Had the mixed greens, the pizza fichi, and the affogato (gelato and espresso) dessert. The pizza had mission figs, gorgonzola, walnuts, prosciutto and arugula. It was a really impressive and distinctive combination! The salad was light and delicious.... More

This is an ideal spot for a romantic meal. Service was attentive and the closeness of the dining room's quarters is typical of NYC eateries - adding to the local flavor. Also a good spot for celebrity spotting.

Very attractive Tuscan, although the dining room is quite generic. Nice food and service. W enjoyed it.

This restaurant is small, quiet and has terrific Italian food. We started with salads - beet salad, yellowfin tuna tartare, and arugula - and all three were healthy portions and a great start to our meal. Then came calves liver, sea scallops, crab risotto, and chicken. Each dish was a healthy portion, served on/in beautifully designed dishes and excellent. We... More

Reviews of Orso said they had delicious liver and onions and they certainly do! Tender liver topped with crispy onions "melts in your mouth" - said my non- liver loving husband after he tasted my plate and he is right, it is delicious. Other menu items were equally good but since they change their menu daily something you see on... More

I was looking for a good place to have an early dinner (6 pm) before our Broadway show (Majestic Theatre) at 8 pm. I did a Google search for the theatre and then used the nearby restaurants to find a place to eat. For each of them (since the list was short), I checked TripAdvisor for reviews. Orso stands out... Had a wonderful time here. The food was excellent. We were given unlimited fresh bread and we asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip the bread in. It was the best balsamic vinegar I had ever tasted and the waiter also brought out a special white bean and garlic dip also which was delicious. They made a plainer... More

This was our first exposure to Orso and it was a successful one. We went pre matinee on a Saturday - the place was quiet, as there were not a lot of people there. The menu has a sufficient number of choices and everything was good. A friend ordered the peach and beet salad which looked beautiful, generous, and apparently... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
