We love this restaurant. I have ordered pizza, pasta, and fish and have never been disappointed. I am also particularly fond of the affogato. A bonus is occasionally seeing someone famous like James Earl Jones or Rosie O'Donnell. Diners never bother celebrities.

We went to Orso with some locals. It was late, after a show and on a Sunday night. We didn't realise that they closed at 11. Nevertheless after 12 we staggered out full of praise for the food, wine and service. Thanks guys for looking after us even though we were late!

It's a small restaurant on W.46st. All the waiters are charming, talented theatre people. You don't have to shout to hear yourself talk! Great menu with some unusual selections, and some great deserts. My favorite place for many years now. You very often see a famous face there. Smile, and leave them alone!

Great food. Always fresh and the homemade pasta excellent. Service is nice. They do not rush you out of there. Great wine and very reasonable prices.

Went there for dinner this evening with my wife and son. Restaurant décor and ambiance were nice, though it was pretty noisy. The service was prompt and friendly (and water glasses were kept full). However, things weren't so great on the food side. Nothing terrible; just ok. A basket of crusty bread was provided along with some white bean-based spread.... More

Pre-Theatre Choice! Allowed 2 hours for dinner - rushed through in less than 1 hr. Less than attentive service - Although Halibut was very good, will not return !

- good, but average Italian food - average service; waiter barely spoke a word - didn't had the chance to adjust the so- called "suggested" 20% of gratuity as it just appeared on the final bill - freezing AC

Highly recommend a reservation at this excellent restaurant well located right in the theatre district. Our reservation was honored and we were immediately seated. The staff was well trained, welcoming and attentive. The seafood salad was delicious and fresh as was the pear salad. The individual pizza was delicious and the portions were large. Highly recommend

My partner and I dashed into Orso one evening , mainly to get out of the rain that had just started ! We were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent service , good wine and interesting menu that we found , and enjoyed a delightful dinner . We would certainly eat there again .

Orso is a great choice for a post-theatre dinner. It's quieter than a lot of other restaurants (in terms of volume, not number of people), so it's better for conversations and discussing what you just saw. Menu is really varied and everything here is good. House wine is really solid by the way.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
