I dined on a Monday evening and have been told that this was a good choice. However, when the theatre goers vacate this restaurant, THAT is a good time every night and you should have no difficulty getting a table until they come back after the show. The food is expertly cooked and well presented. My Liver and bacon by... More

We selected this restaurant based on recommendations from the staff at a nearby B&B, our hotel for a 5 night visit of NYC. The service and the food were exceptional. My wife selected the roasted beets and pears starter while I chose the house salad; both were very good and very fresh. For the main course, my wife chose the... More

When going to an evening Broadway show, we love to have dinner after the show at Orso. In addition to the white bean spread for the bread(I could make an entire meal of this), the flatbreads are terrific! I also have enjoyed the pasta dishes as well as the lamb. It's also fun on occasion to see some of the... More

A charming, inviting Italian restaurant with full bar in the Theatre District is just the spot before an evening show. Starters: Butternut Squash Soup - lovely & hot w/pureed pear & ginger for a rich, flavorful mix; Trevisano Salad - Arugula greens w/sliced apples, grapes, goat cheese, toasted walnuts & lovely ginger vinaigrette was a favorite. Entree's: Mushroom & Asparagus... More

My gf is normally put off by the theater district but I'm glad I convinced her to give this gem a try. Perfectly seasoned and constructed thin crust pizza ; excellent beet & pear salad; and melt in your mouth gnocchi were highlights. The affogato with Nardini amaro was another treat. We also enjoyed the bread and accompanying bean based... More

Orso was recommended by our hotel as being a good restaurant in the area. It did not disappoint. Although we did not have a reservation they gave us a small, not so desirable table but within moments some people left and we were graciously reseated at a larger table in a better location. Our food was delicious. I had the... More

I dropped in last night for a solo dinner before the theater. Not everyone likes a solo diner but they treated me well. I was sort of out in the middle there and would have preferred a less conspicuous table but it was really ok. Had a half portion of gnocchi and short ribs and it was very good. Bread... More

We went pre-theatre. Started off with an ultra-thin delicious pizza as well as outstanding, complimentary white bean spread/bread. We had a delicious pasta and fish dishes for dinner. Service was excellent.

I went to dinner with a group of old friends at Orso. There were ten of us, which is challenging for a waitstaff. Our waiter was gracious, helpful and responsive. Letting us take our time to catch up and getting our orders to us when we finally ordered them. We shared parmesan bread with out drinks and it was delicious.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
