A real NYC pastrami sandwich from a real NYC deli--just what I was looking for and this place doesn't disappoint. They even sell my favorite Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. It's just off of Times Square--stop by for a sandwich or a bagel--you'll be glad you did!

I'm not one to eat in Manhattan near Times Square however when I do it has to be Starlight Deli. The best by far for any type of sandwich. They make it for you right then and there, very quick, very efficient, very tasty!!!! Definitely takes you to Food Heaven!!!! And best of all great on a budget!!!

If you want to eat in Times Square, take a walk 1 or 2 blocks west to 8th or 9th St. There are excellent delis on nearly every corner and the prices are much lower than on Broadway. A deli is the only place to eat in Manhattan if you are looking for great food on a budget.

It is New York and pastrami is a must! Be prepared to stand up or take out. Traditional New York Deli!

I was here in April 2008 and just remembered how amazing their sandwich was. It's the biggest sandwich I've ever had. It's near the bus station where we boarded the bus to Boston.

Decent food and potentially terrific sandwiches are overshadowed by difficult order experiences and varying (higher than appropriate) prices for the same foods on different days. Leave this narrow deli to those who don't care about service or how much it costs.

If you can handle the noise, the food is okay. Not somewhere to go if you have a headache of any kind and definitely not for people who want somewhere quiet.

Come here everyday for lunch when in town for a tradeshow. Freshly made sandwiches made to order for about $7. Comes with a sour pickle. No real seating so I take it back to my tradeshow.

This place is located on W. 44th Street but gets lost in-between Carmine’s and Guy Fieri’s. I walk past it most nights on the way to PABT so eventually I came to recall it was there so today was the day to make my first visit. They offer a variety of lunch options with some looking better than others. My... More

I went here 4 years ago and thought this was the place to get bagels. It was great. This time, the bagels were not as good and they skimped on the amount of cream cheese. Another day I got a bagel from a street vendor and it was about the same quality except much cheaper. Nothing special was my takeaway.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
