A gorgeous, restaurant in the theater district. After 8pm (theater time), restaurants in the area aren't crowded. My husband and I booked an 8:30 table in their romantic garden to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived only two tables were occupied, yet we were shown to a small, obscure table for two adjacent to a beautiful table for four. We... More

Loved it! Worth every penny! Not only amazing food but wonderful service. We ate late lunch in garden - lovely. Dress up a bit, very nice inside & outside. Amazing chicken under a brick! Cold poached pear with sweet wine glaze syrup unlike anything you have ever had, A++. Loved after lunch cappuccino too. Super great, been going since 1960s... More

Wonderful evening - lovely attentive staff - very "old-school" Italian and all the better for it. The food was good, not excellent, but the ambience of the place made it an excellent evening.

As my partner Sue and I sat in the garden courtyard on a balmy October night, having seen a great play on Broadway, we felt that we had been transported to Tuscany or Piedmonte. Professional, friendly and highly attentive waiters greeted us and made us feel at home. Andrew the sommelier recommended an excellent Barbaresco 2012 from Barolo after allowing... More

We went here after Aladdin and it was the perfect end to a great evening. We were taken to the garden for dinner and we couldn't believe how gorgeous it was. We chose things from the menu that they have been making for years. Marco was a great waiter so pleasant and fun. We asked him to take a picture... More

The moment you step into the restaurant you feel like transferred many years back in Italy, just romantic, old style restaurant, the seating in the garden is just lovely, a cute romantic setting with old trees and a fountain in the middle. The welcome is warm and makes you feel special, they ask about the show you are going to watch... Great location for pre-post theater. The food was very authentic and delicious. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We sat outside on a perfect night in a beautiful garden. The wine list was good. Even though we were a bit rushed to make our our show, the staff made us feel like we could still have a great dinner at... More

Barbetta is a welcome throwback to the days when dining out was elegant, when service was polite and personal, and when food was lovingly prepared. The well informed head waiter offered a complete description of each dish and made recommendations based on our personal preferences. The bufala mozzarella was the closest I have ever come to the real Italian taste... More

Unique old world Italian setting on restaurant row in the theatre district. The garden is a lovely oasis in the heart of the city. We dined her for lunch. The service was great and the food was very tasty. The rabbit was superb.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
