One of the most authentic Northern Italian cuisine I have ever had. Gnocchi was outstanding as was the pasta and meat sauce. Meat sauce was what I would categorize as "heavy". Lots of meat and a very thick tomato rue. Highly recommended. Wine list was as thick as a good novel! Be prepared for a long decision unless you know... More

the food and appetizers were decent. we thought we ordered half plates and we're charged for full. We asked for cheese ravioli and veal ravioli was brought out and none of eat veal. Service was good but almost too much. All these different people coming to table. It wasn't worth the money. I wouldn't go back.

We visited this fine establishment located in the in an old town home in historic New York City, was established in 1906, still in the same family. If you're lucky enough you could meet The beautiful owner of the founder. My wife ordered the salmon what a delicious meal even got a bit!! And I had the salmon, splendid creation... More

We were looking forward to a delicious post-theater dinner but unfortunately were disappointed. The restaurant is a unique and different place to eat, but the experience fell short of our expectations. It started with the wait staff. I don't know if our waiter reflects the entire waitstaff, but he was not engaging at all. No review of the menu, and... More

Barbetta is a very special restaurant. It was founded in 1906 and is still owned by the founding family. Located on the edge of the theater district, Barbetta occupies two handsome late-1800s townhouses. Entering the restaurant is like entering a private residence and the greeting is just as warm. There are a number of dining rooms on two floors. We... More

Wonderful food and great wine list. Excellent service. Nice dinner before the theater with interesting staff sharing information about the history of the restaurant and the owners. Short walk from Times Square. Worth the effort.

We went for the prix fixe menu.. the appetizers - roasted peppers with a sauce that included anchovies and olive oil and the crespelle (which was like a crepe wrapped around a melange of veggies and cheese) - were delicious. The bread - refill three times for me - was very tasty. While the beef in Barolo sauce was very... More

My brother and I came here during our trip to New York to grab an early dinner before a broadway show. Obviously a lot of people come for that, so they do a great job of making sure you have a great dinner while still being on time for your show. This is an old school Italian place. We had... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
