My husband and I are honeymooning in New York and have spent a lot of money thus far on dining and drinks and have been less than satisfied on numerous occasions. We walked past this restaurant and saw a very reasonably priced set menu so thought we would give it a try!! We were very happy with our food and... More

Well, (a) the outside is a tad non-descipt, what with it being in the midst of serious competition in Manhattan's Theater District "Restaurant Row", and (b) the decor could use a bit of a refresh. I start out with these 2 downers because (a) you might miss the place and (b) you might notice it yourself after you order and... More

One of the few French restaurants on Restaurant Row, Le Rivage has been around for almost 35 years. The menu is pretty much unchanged, but then my tastes haven't changed much either. Prix Fixe is $39 and that hasn't changed much either over the years. All the classics are there-Trout Almandine, Beef Bourguignon, Duck a l'Orange, etc. The mushroom risotto... More

Not the best meal you'll find in NYC but very good at a reasonable price. The pre-fixe meal is only $40 with many great choices. Have been twice and no one in either party was disappointed. If there is a weak spot it would be dessert. Service is efficient, gets you to your show on time, but not hurried.

Went here on a friend's recommendation. This is not fine dining, and the cost is reasonable. But the food and service could be better even at moderate cost. Setting is nothing special, decor best described as naif, table ware could be better quality. The food was adequate mostly. The duck is a popular dish, and this was OK without much... More

We have dined at Le Rivage for over 30 years. It has consistently delivered good food and good value. The price fixed pre-theater menu has a large number of choices and delivers good value. There are a few items with social supplements. The wine list is well-chosen and reasonably priced.

We recently had a pre-matinee lunch here with out-of-town friends who recommended the restaurant. We all ordered from the prix fixe lunch menu. Each of us enjoyed our meals; but, were somewhat disappointed with the desserts. The staff is efficient and welcoming. The décor is charming and very attractive.

We went to Le Rivage after reading all the reviews on trip advisor & Yelp. The restaurant is a small cozy place, the exterior is not inviting at all. Service was very good. We ordered from the pre fixed menu. We ordered the escargot, it wasn't seasoned evenly. One would be yummy and the next was so salty! My husband... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
