We went for dinner and there are few choices. There is also an unorganized line outside to get in. If you go leave enough time to wait and dine. The singing is amazing and the staff is nice. I got soaking wet when they tried to clean the table behind us. There tables are way to close together and you... More

Got to admit, I loved it here. I didn't fancy it one bit but being a minge I figured I'd avoid paying for a show if I agreed to this. For anyone who doesn't know, the staff take turns singing, so your waitress can disappear during serving and you look round to see the cheeky mare belting out Barbara Streisand... More

We first went there, just looking for a diner...not knowing what it really was. Ordered our food...heard some show tunes as back round songs...WE THOUGHT.....Then we realized our waiter was near us singing......all the staff sang...and very very well....we found out that this is what broadway actors do between shows to pay the bills...PLUS the food was GOOD and not... Wonderful place if you enjoy singing & show tunes. We went for a late breakfast on a weekday, did not have to wait at all for a table, but we did see wait-lines for dinner times. Food was average-to-good, go more for the atmosphere. I will go again next time in NYC

Im so glad mu travel companions knew anoit this plaxe. We visited twice in our 7 day stay. Ellens employs out of work or in-between work Broadway singers who get to practice live performance in between taking your order! Food is ok or so so...nothing particlarly special about the food as a dining experience. It doesn't take bookings so you... More

Visiting Ellen's Stardust diner was an interesting and unique experience. We went as a group for breakfast and I've never experienced a Broadway-style musical breakfast. Everything is special about the diner - great food, amazing gifted and friendly staff, fantastic service, big helpings etc. Not far from Times Square with that "something different and special" appeal. Note: Try a balcony... More

Really fun to see aspiring actors and singers working their chops. Lots of different song choices but mostly Broadway tunes. Food not excellent and little pricey so maybe just get a few appetizers(leave a good tip they are struggling) and sit and listen. Try it atleast once!

We went at 4.30 so no queuing. Good fun atmosphere and staff can certainly sing. Burger was the worst we had on the whole holiday and when we sent back the dry, stale bun they replaced it with one just as bad. Either they had a bad batch of buns or don't have a clue what a good bun is.... More

We visit this eatery every time we come to New York and again the food and service was great. The waiting staff take it in turns to sing to you as you eat. The only fault I could comment on is science our first visit in 2009 the decor has deteriorated and requires some TLC

I won't pretend that the food is that great, to be truthful it's pretty average, I had pancakes and they were nice enough just nothing to shout about. BUT The entertainment makes up for that twofold to be honest I stopped even caring about my food when they started singing - it's like watching a show on Broadway whilst eating... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
