May 27, 2015 - Using a Restaurant.com certificate, we ate at the Croton Reservoir Tavern before going to a Broadway show. We arrived at the tavern around 5:30pm and had our choice of seating. Everyone at the tavern was very friendly and professional. Because they were not yet busy, we were able to talk with our waiter and with one... More

We decided to have dinner at Croton since we liked it the past two or three times we ate here. Unfortunately since it is a bar/restaurant the tables for dining are extremely close to the bar. We asked to be seated in a booth that was removed from the noise but the maître d' said no because the tables are... More

I'm very sorry that the noise level got to be so overwhelming -- we don't often get numerous private parties at once, but I can understand how a gathering like that can get pretty loud. That being said, please know that the service you describe isn't at all like us. It sounds like we dropped the ball here, but I... More

Walking past and decide to drop in to take a break from the humid streets. Two rounds of beers and a seat by the window and enjoyed watching NYC rush hour go by. Great looking tavern and a hotspot for local workers. Two beers was $16 so a little more expensive but I guess to be expected in central NYC.... More

Thanks for dropping in! I'm glad we were able to give you a nice place to relax during rush hour. Sorry that the beers were a little more than you'd hoped, but thanks for enjoying us regardless. Come see us again when you're back in the city! Safe travels, Chris Delmond, Co. Owner More

Arrived around 8:30 on a Thursday night to a bustling mixed crowd. Popular Happy Hour spot. Luckily we had reserved a large table for our group. Good variety of appetizers and entrees. From wingspans sliders to polenta fries. I enjoyed the roasted Brussels sprouts and kale salad. Friendly staff. The hostess was great-politely notifying the patrons mingling at our table... More

It's not hard to find a late-night place to eat in the Times Square area, but you will have to look hard to find one as comfortable and welcoming as Croton Reservoir Tavern. They offer a fair assortment of bar food and a very well-stocked bar to satisfy someone who has been to a show and wants a quiet drink... More

This is probably my 12th visit in the last 3 years (I live 25 miles outside of the city so I only visit several times during the year) and it is always excellent. I searched many places for a restaurant that wasn't too far from our hotel and wasn't too costly. I felt what we paid ($20 for the children, $45 for the adults) was very fair, considering you are in NYC and it is Thanksgiving. Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
