Food is consistently good. Expansive wine list. Order the salt bronzino. Perfection! Reserva required.

We enjoyed excellent service from our waitress for lunch this weekend and our food was very good, however, we did not experience a spirit of hospitality from the manager. He had a looming presence in the dining room and an attitude of arrogance. He was not welcoming and he was so unpleasant, at one point we actually considered leaving. Fortunately... More

We went there for my sister's bday. The place was crowded but nice. You can sit either outside or inside. Service was ok. Food was definitely good It's worth the price

Esca is an amazing Italian seafood restaurant. We had the Crudo tasting appetizer and the Bronzino for Two for the main course. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty. Seriously one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever been to. Excellent wine selection ask well. Dessert was sublime with a lemon cake. Be prepared to spend some $$$$ here, but... More

We selected Esca because it was close to the theater where we were seeing a matinee. I was a bit worried that they opened at noon and if we would make our play, but when I made the reservation I was assured that they could accommodate us. Well, they said open at noon and they meant it even though there... More

First, I want those who read this to be aware that I have been to this restaurant a number of times and the food is usually pretty good. On this occasion I was surprised that the food was sub par. My girlfriend ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Piemontese with the white truffles which was good but at $90 could have been... More

The food was sensational and the wine selection vast. Service was excellent but the restaurant is noisy and crowded.

Went here with my wife for her birthday. The freshness of the Crudo (raw) seafood is amazing - the Cod in 25 year old sherry vinegar was one of the most memorable dishes I have ever had the pleasure to consume. The grilled baby octopus was the best my wife or I have ever had. The desserts were light, airy,... More

I was excited to be able to get a table at a Mario restaurant now I know why. It isn't that good. The room is nice an the staff was attentive and professional. The wine list was extensive and expensive to being overpriced. Especially the super Tuscans. I had the Fish soup which was a tomato broth and a crouton... More

I had sworn off Esca about a year ago because despite having some excellent dishes the restaurant was uncomfortable and the management too full of itself. This weekend I decided to give it another try because the space supposedly had undergone some renovation and I was hoping it might have turned into a more patron-friendly place. Unfortunately it only seems... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
