I took my new wife here for our first date back in 2013. Now that we are married, I decided to repeat the date! The food here is excellent, especially the crudo; the crudo is fantastic. The pasta dishes are wonderful. It is easy to get full on crudo, apps, and pasta, so think carefully about ordering a main, if... More

Had dinner here on a Monday night ... I ordered sea trout with mushrooms and chestnuts for $39. I wasn't asked how I wanted the fish cooked. It was raw in the middle and slightly burned from the grill. The mushrooms were too salty. We had the apple cake for dessert at $15. The gelato on top was out of... More

The venue is nice and tables are spread out which is great. We liked the wine list and appetizers were very good. The fish stew entree was fairly good but the mussels were overlooked and leathery. Dessert selection also was not that impressive. All in all, we liked the dinner because of the venue and the service but the food... More

Nice dinner, attentive staff, asked which show and when so they could get us out on time. Mostly fish on menu, no meat. Best dish: tuna meatballs! Doesn't sound great, but definitely the highlight!

Very dissapointing! Sent back wild salmon that smelled and tasted bad. A manager tried to tell me that was normal for wild Salmon. Spoiled my appetite, had no dinner. Zucchini blossoms mediocre. Only good things were cocktail & charming Patrick!

Waiter attentive, but GM rude. Wanted light meal but told that we had to order more food. Smoked salmon roe was delicious as were cocktails and wine, but everything else was poor: zucchini blossoms, octopus, scallops (partly burnt), etc. Crowded! And expensive. Been twice before, but will never go back.

my family was celebrating a special occasion and decided on the set fish menu for dinner. we were not always served the same dish which gave rise to joyful sharing. most of us ate most of our many courses. all of us were very full. the wine was delicious., service fine and interesting array of fish. We had a delightful... More

The service was excellent, but the food was one dimensional and lack flavor. It either was too salty, too oily or too much tomato flavor. The wine list was extensive, but overpriced with few wines under $100.. I would not recommend it.

Yesterday, a group of 5 women had lunch at Esca. We told our waiter we were interested in a light lunch and in sharing. He brought us menus and we decided on 2 salads and one main course. The waiter returned saying that there was a required minimum, and we needed to order 2 more main course or 1 more... More

We stopped by for dinner before a 700pm show. We arrived about 530. The waiter made it his business to ensure we got ordered and able to enjoy our meal and make the show on time. The food was excellent. We had Salmon, Longfin, Fiore Di Zuca, Pomodoro and Verdura Mista. Everything was excellent. I would like to return when... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
