Oh my, we were really looking forward to this restaurant but our experienced failed at every juncture. 1. Our table of four were seated upstairs and frankly were forgotten (don't let them sit you upstairs, its a very different vibe and experience). We waited over an hour for our first course. Nearly all of our party had to change our... More

I've traveled the world, dined at the finest, and have to say that La Grenouille is the best of the best. The service is impeccable, the food divine, and the lighting so subtle that everyone looks beautiful. The floral arrangements are spectacular, AND, there's no piped, canned or live music, so you can actually have a conversation in a soft... More

Felt like I had time warped into the 90's. Very pretty restaurant with amazing flowers. Received very well. After a long deliberation we made our choices. The appetizers were lobster ravioli, delicious, a crab cake full of crab no filler somehow lacked in flavour and escargot. My wife was very disappointed. We made our feelings known. Waiter offered to replace... More

This place never disappoints, everything about it is beautiful, The setting, the food the service! I never go to NYC without trying to make it there since 1971 at least.

La Grenouille is one of the last classic restaurants in New York. That history, the setting, and flowers are part of the reason these french classics are priced at a premium---and it's well worth it. This isn't the cutting edge cooking you see on Chef's Table or at the city's younger 3 star restaurants. This is the classic, reassuringly reliable.... More

The one aspect i was impressed was its decor and ambiance. This was a truly magnificent. The service was very good as we were well looked after. Having said that I found that the food did not match its reputation. The wine was also very good. However i found that both were overly priced and far too expensive for what... More

I do not impress easily however having read the negative reviews of the Grenouille I wanted to eat there. Reviews that state its old fashioned French cooking, the staff all spoke French only attracts me. The service was excellent in true French style. The food was excellent, classic soufflés perfectly cooked, a Braised Oxtail in a red wine sauce that... More

I'm local. Born and raised in Manhattan. Work in Midtown. Never been to La Grenouille. First time last week, for my 35th wedding anniversary. The decor was stunningly beautiful. The service was, in a word, superb. Everything was ultra elegant and impressive, and I'm not easily impressed. Up to this point, I give La Genouille 6 stars. The food was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
