Live this fine dining place. The waitstaff makes you feel special from the minute you walk in the door. The atmosphere couldn't be better, and the food is out of this world. A hidden gem (at least from tourists). Good location. You need reservations.

Met a friend at La Grenouille after reading the Zagat recommendation. Thought dinner was a bit pricey so we settled on lunch ($59 a head, 3 courses, pick what you want from the menu). Now maybe it was because it was lunch on a weekend, but the clientele were mainly older people, and the service was attentive but unrushed. We... More

Loved the atmosphere and liked the food but 154 per person is TOO MUCH for what it was. My wife liked the foie gras so we ordered an extra one a la carte. It was $48 for two bites.

We could not get in for dinner but made a lunch reservation. The french onion soup and lobster bisque were the best we ever had, including Paris. The waiter was helpful on an excellent half bottle of Burgundy (Chateau St. Georges, 2012). The prix fixe menu was quite reasonable ($59). The service was excellent. The restaurant itself was beautiful. We... More

This restaurant is a jewel itself on manhattan. You experience there a total blackout from ny city life. Once there it feels like you are having dinner somewhere like 60 years back on france. What an outstanding atmosphere! (if there is availability pick your reservation on the first floor). The service is pretty attentive, the food was quite good. They... More

Although I live in California, whenever I visit New York on business or pleasure, I always try to eat at Le Grenouille. This is a special fine dining place with top service and food. It is beautifully decorated with stunning floral displays and unique table lamps. It is a dressy place. Although I think a tie is not required for... More

La Grenouille restaurant has historically always been listed at the very top of New York City's temples of classic French cuisine along with Lutèce, Pavillion and La Cote Basque. It is still a truly beautiful venue in which to dine and the price of the 3 course dinner (not including wine, tax or gratuity) is $154 per person, a price... More

This is a very cozy restaurant, not cheep at all, but with a superior service and a wonderful food. Portions are rewarding, table & seats extremely comfortable. Very nice atmosphere, extremely well decorated and definitely a restaurant to visit again and again. Since it is not cheep, for obvious reasons it is very well attended.

I was here 20 years ago, and it was superbe. Coming back 20 years later, it is still superbe. For a restaurant to maintain a Michelin 3 level quality for this duration is one in a million. If you are lucky enough to come to New York City, you must treat yourself to La Grenouille. One of the best restaurants... More

This restaurant has a 54 year history of spoiling people with amazing food and service! Absolutely one of the top five restaurants I have ever experienced! The fresh flowers throughout the entire restaurant were gorgeous! The service is impeccable and the pre-fix is to die for! Foie Gras, Escargot, Dover Sole and Pike Dumplings were our selections paired with a... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
