The restaurant closes the kitchen at 7:20 on Sundays. I wished that was more obvious when you book the reservations online or if they had mentioned it when I called. They were also out of many items such as pasta and scallops. The food was ok. The chicken's sauce seemed a little starchy. The mashed potatoes seemed like it was... More

Sardi's is one of those places that is classic NYC. I feel like it's worth going to at least once. The caricatures on the walls are so interesting. It's fun to try and pick out people you know. The food was delicious and the service 100% attentive. It was great! Book reservations in advance to guarantee a table, especially during... More

Sardi's was recommended by a local as a fallback. We were able to get a table early enough for a quick dinner. They know most patrons are going to a show. Old NY decor. We each had a classic canneloni - one with spinach and one with beef, and a glass of ok red wine. Very humorous waiter. Expensive, but... More

This is a classic place, and worth the price. We came here for dinner before the theater, as so many do. The service is excellent, and the food very good. They even went out of their way to help celebrate my wife's birthday with some cake and singing. Would go again and would recommend.

The worst antipasti I've ever had in my life. Clearly they should be closed down and if I was famous I would bar them from having a picture of my likeness on the wall.

Whenever I am in Manhattan I try to make it to Sardi's at least once on the trip. As it turned out, I had lunch there on my Birthday this week. So disappointed. A truly mediocre lunch. Nothing fancy at all. Also, the service is not fast. Took 45 minutes for lunch to arrive. Then the waiter hides for the... More

My daughter loved her pasta entrée and I enjoyed my Cannelloni au Gratin! Service was great & loved the nostalgic feeling in the space. Finally, dessert, Sardi's frozen cake, was so incredibly delicious!!! Although there are many more refined dining experiences in Manhattan, Sardi's definitely fit the bill for our mother & daughter night out.

Service was wonderful on a Sunday prior to matinee. Price fix lunch; had the spinach cannelloni. Will be thinking about it for a long time to come. Delicious!

I have wanted to go to Sardi's since I was a kid and I saw it in a Bugs Bunny cartoon! It was definitely iconic an the caricatures were pretty cool!! The food wasn't spectacular, but it was good. The crab cakes were tender and had some big chunks of crab. My husband had the Shrimp in garlic sauce. It... More

An institution. Great spot for a pre theatre cocktail. I was surprised at how inexpensive wine by the bottle was. Fun decor. Great location.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
