Great cozy setting on a beautiful NYC evening. Was lucky to grab a last minute res when meeting up with our daughter. Ample portions and great menu choices. Not overly salted and fresh and creative. Tasty specialty drinks as well. Professional and attentive service

The food was really fresh & good. We started with a wonderful coconut curry soup with crab. It was delightful. Next we had the trout. Again, it was really good. They have gluten free breads & crackers which was a nice surprise. They were great! For dessert we had Pavlova, a meringue bowl, with berries & mint ice cream. Yum!!... More

This was our second visit for Brunch and once again we were not disappointed. The food at Public is so well prepared and thought out. Each dish is packed with bold flavors and you can tell that the ingredients are first class. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you will not be rushed.

We met with friends for brunch and perfect place to chat and enjoy great food. They got the salmon and I had the lamb and both were delicious.

We were mistakenly told that this was an Australian restaurant and set our sights on learning about and trying Aussie food. Sadly, this was not the case, but have no fear, the food was still super awesome! The menu is tapas style and our server gave some great suggestions for us to try. The cocktails were also really good and... More

First night in New York and we had a table booked. Waiter was very friendly, and knowledgeable on the wines and food. Suggested small plates to share, but said that two would be enough per person. In fact, the lamb would have been enough for me without the need to try the scallops too. But all in all, really great.... More

This is another amazing restaurant from the very talented Brad Famerie. I adore Saxon and Parole and now have another outstanding spot to savor more of his creations! We tried everything vegetarian and loved that there were so many options. I'll be back again soon!!!

From the EXCELLENT bloody mary's forward, we were treated to a simply fantastic meal. The waitstaff was super helpful and friendly. The food preparation and presentation was a feast for eye and mouth. We've eaten here for dinner and now that we experienced brunch...we'd come back in heartbeat!

Amazing food both delicious and creative. The design of the restaurant is as inspiring as the food itself. Give yourself sometime to enjoy drinks in the lounge as well.

I am usually bit wary of the "small plate" restaurant. Sometimes small plates are merely sides with large prices. Public offers a very cool and cozy spot in a great location. We had 3 at our table and we ordered a few sides, small plates, and large plates. I wish the server would have given us more instructions on small... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighborhood Profile
Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighborhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighborhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
