Was tipped of this local favorite sitting on the steps of Union Square the day before. So glad I followed the lead. Atmosphere was amazing, the waiters genuine and the food was fantastic. Had the gnocchi and Penni.

Walking distance from Cosmopolitan hotel. Excellent food. Canolis are not to be believed. Service good & friendly. Management is very attentive. No reservations necessary. Portions good.

We stayed in the Financial District because we were going to 9/11 Memorial. We found this restaurant was on a few minute walk from the Memorial (about 10 mins). The staff was attentive and the food was delicious. I had a NY Strip steak the was awesome and my husband had Clams and linguine (which he loved). Nice wine, romantic... More

The food is top notch. Fresh and very tasty. The service is very good as well. My sole critique is that the place is in need of a face lift. I know old is not bad but this place is just starting to show its wear. That should not detract from anyone going there for a meal but as we... More

I've been going to Ecco since the mid-eighties when I had a Wall Street office and there were few good dining options downtown. Ecco is as good as always. Ecco is an old NY bar/restaurant with an old NY vibe. Near City Hall and the WTC.

Had an early dinner here last week. Around 6pm on a Wednesday 2 tables were occupied. Service was prompt but not overly friendly or welcoming. I ordered the Pasta Fagioli. I was surprised to see they make them with Rigatoni... never seen that soup with large pasta, usually i've had it with smaller type pasta like Ditalini... oh well, it... More

Neighborhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
