Great Find

What a NY restaurant should be; clean, good service with a little attitude and quality food and drink. The bartender, Anna, was attentive but not a bother and they served bread, cheese and olives as an appetizer. Also, being mid-December, very appropriately decorated for the holidays with great rat... read more

I had dined here once before many years ago and had very good meal but somehow I never made it back. I should have made the effort. I stopped in for dinner by myself and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The menu was not overly extensive but there was a good selection. I think a... More

I was invited to a Holiday Lunch at Ecco and heard many good things, that were not apparent. I arrived a bit late and when I inquired where the party was seated, I was told I was the first to arrive. Five minutes later I was told they made a mistake and escorted to the table. The host pre-ordered an... More

Went for a late afternoon early business dinner/late lunch. Place has tons of character, especially at Christmas time with the cheesy, old style decorations. It looks more like an older bar than a restaurant, which adds to the charm. The menu is made up of classic red-sauce standards but everything is fresh and done well. For example, the calamari appetizer... More

The bartender, Anna, was attentive but not a bother and they served bread, cheese and olives as an appetizer. Also, being mid-December, very appropriately decorated for the holidays with great rat pack inspired music. Overall a great experience just off West Broadway!

How refreshing to find a restaurant that has food as excellent as any of the five star rated restaurants in Manhattan and is more reasonable. Everything was great from the Caesar salad to the veal Marsala, veal parmigiana, ravioli and the gnocchi. The desserts were fabulous as well. We ordered the tiramisu and the cannoli and the cappuccino was one... More

We were up by Times Square on a Friday night but made the trip anyway. We were glad we did. The atmosphere was perfect, not too loud and very friendly. I had Veal Ecco which was very good and others had lamb shanks which were excellent. Good wine list and very fine waitstaff.

Great classic Italian food. After eating at some very pricy places in NYC, this place was less expensive and provided better food! Great service. Nice ambiance. We had a great date night in this classic restaurant.

Visited last Friday night for my daughter's birthday while visiting NYC. Great food and great service. They had Dover Sole as a special and it was cooked and presented perfectly. We will be back!

We had a group visit to the 9/11 memorial and arranged for dinner not far away. Several of the locals recommended Ecco. Food and service were very good. Tables are a bit tight together, though it has a nice look. Enjoyable dinner with colleagues and friends.

The atmosphere is a warm and friendly environment. Ray, The Owner makes customers feel as if they are part of his family. All of the entrees are fresh and well prepared. There are so many things to choose from on the menu. Dover sole melts right in my mouth. Branzino is fantastic as well. This restaurant beats out Little Italy... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
