Fine dining and a different type of "Inn Crowd"

I didn't know what to expect when I arrived and I would have been happy enough to stay among the busy throng at the bar but we were booked into the restaurant at the back and treated to a gastronomic delight with a 7 course "taster menu" Maybe a bit over the top for a business meeting and maybe... read more

We had a great lunch at Gramercy Tavern two years ago, and decided to go back when in NYC this past weekend. The rest of the weekend, we kept saying, "that meal was AMAZING, and we are SO glad we went back". Everything was exquisite! The flavors were so creative and complementary and portion sizes were "just right". I had... More

I checked this place out online before we went to New York. The reviews were good and we weren't disappointed. We turned up without a reservation on a Friday night and had only been waiting 10 mins before the waiter apologised and gave us a free drink. We were more than happy to wait. The staff were so helpful and... More

This is not a cheap restaurant, but it is worth every penny. My husband I visited recently for a special occasion. We were greated warmly and shown to our seat promptly. The decor is gorgeous with stunning floral arrangements. Our waiters were fantastic, in that while being professional, knowledgeable, and attentive, they were also fun and friendly. I hate stuffy... I celebrated my 26th birthday with my husband in 2014 and we had a fabulous time. The food is stupendous, the atmosphere magical and the service incredibly attentive, yet unobtrusive. I will certainly be returning next time I am in Manhattan.

My wife and I received a voucher for her 30th birthday. This was the first high end restaurant we went to in NY on this trip. As the restaurant knew we were celebrating a 30th and then also a wedding they were great in providing champagne and a dessert as part of the overall experience. The food was terrific. All... More

Seasonal Tasting Menu $125 per person. One of the best meals we've ever had. Staff were attentive and knowledgable, surroundings comfortable. Would highly recommend, an unforgettable experience.

I decided to whisk my wife off to New York to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and had heard great things about the Gramercy Tavern. I managed to book a table approx 28 days prior to arrival for the time I wanted, which was a little tricky as demand for this restaurant is very high...a great sign! When we... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
