One MICHELIN Star: High quality cooking, worth a stop!
Very comfortable restaurant; one of our most delightful places.
One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more

We had a 90 minute slot. Our seat was on the closed street. My friends enjoyed their meals as did I. I had boulliabaise which had perfectly cooked fish and veg. I did have to request bread to sop up the liquid. My friend said...the berger was in the top 10 bergers in Manhatten. I tried his duck fat chips which were tasty. I did not taste my other friends chicken but it was beautifully presented. The menu is limited. The house wine was a 2018 Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, Oregon. It was surprisingly good for a house wine.More

Just ate Sunday lunch at the Gramacy Tavern. A bit chilly because no indoor seating in NYC. Menu was small. Check on line Food was excellent. Just like always. Make Reservation. Just like always. Done.

I love what the restaurant has done with the outdoor area, it’s very chic while also being safe. There’s plenty of space between tables so you can easily dine with your mask off. PSA: don’t forget to put your mask on when your server comes...over, they’re human too ;) The food, unreal, it was so so good. We had the tomato carpaccio, chilled corn soup & the burger. The tomato carpaccio has watermelon, beets & a plum sesame sauce, perfect combination. The corn soup was not too sweet, they’ve added pickled veggies to balance the flavors, genius. The burger, many people know about it, it’s good, still doesn’t beat my favorite at Four Charles Prime Rib. Overall, definitely go! The ambiance and food won’t let you down.More

Hard to get reservation. Now they offer same/similar food in bar area as the price fix meal in the dining room. our flight got delayed quite a bit and we missed our dining room reservation but ate in bar instead. Because of that, they served...many of their dining room entrees to us in bar. They were all great. had been wanting to try this place for quite some time.More

We came here on the recommendation of a colleague and were not disappointed. Although we had to wait aproximately 30 minutes for a table at lunch time (we didnt have a reservation), it was no problem as they have a comfortable waiting area and staff...kept us updated on progress of our table. Once seated we had a great dining experience, with bubbly tavern atmosphere, very friendly and helpful service and exceptional food and wine. I made a special request for the Wagyu meatballs due to my dairy allergy and the waitress (I cant remember her name, but she was awesome) organised this with the kitchen and the result was amazing....it ended up being one of my favourite meals while in NY. Highly recommended.More

It’s no tipping restaurant. The restaurant was great decoration, food was lovely! We understand that service a little bit slow as it’s busy. They all handled well. Dish we love is Wagyu meatball. Thanks to the Chef who made our request as my husband is...non dairy. Carrot purée was awesome!More

The restaurant is a no tip restaurant. Everyone works together to make sure you are served attentively. We sat in the tavern portion and LOVED our food. The beet salad, flatbread, and chicken (yes it really is THAT good) were some of the best I've...ever eaten. Not to be outdone the pumpkin bengie and pudding cake were soooo good.More

A favorite place for us, well trained staff and generally well executed. Food is outstanding! They do not rush you here if you would like to linger or go at a relaxed pace. The only nit is that our waiter left our table to other...staff, in his haste he neglected to adjust the bill for wines that we tasted, but refused.More

GramercyTavern was highly recommenced by foodie friends and was wonderful (they do have one Michelin star). There are two rooms with different menus for lunch: front room by the bar for drop-ins (a la carte), and back room with reservations (a la carte or prix...fix tasting menus). Decor is surprising for NYC: CA rancho style with high vaulted ceilings, very peaceful and relatively quiet. Tables are widely spaced, and service outstanding, making an unusually pleasant dining experience. Good range of entrees and appetizers, all very tasty and beautifully plated. You can make special requests for dish alterations. Good, but pricey wine list. Lovely, crisp salads and very good fresh-baked rolls. We had 4 popular entrees, and rated them: superb burger, excellent schnitzel, very good char and tile fish. Dessert menu looks fabulous, but we had no room. Expensive, but very well worth it for special occasions. Tips and coatcheck included in prices. Lunch about $50 each without alcohol. Highly recommended.More

First (and likely only) time dining at the Gramercy Tavern. The meal itself was fine (aside from a very salty chicken) but left very disappointed with our careless server. He never introduced himself, seemed not interested at all in engaging with the table, was mostly...MIA (20 min between main dish and dessert felt like forever) and never acknowledged the birthday we were celebrating. The support staff did bring a cake with a generic “happy birthday” written on the plate despite the fact that I was specifically asked for the name of the birthday person when confirming the reservation the day before. When you’re spending $350 for a meal for two you do get to expect some personal touch to the occasion but there was none whatsoever. Not sure if it’s the no-tipping policy that ends up resulting in this very mediocre service. Not interested in coming back.More
