We visited Veniero's to try their cannoli. We generally would go somewhere in Little Italy. We were out for a walk and decided on Veniero's for the first time. Little did we know what we have been missing all of this time. In the front of the establishment is a bakery for those who prefer to take their treats home.... More

The pastry case is full of an astonishing array of yumminess. We got goodies to take away so I can't vouch for their coffee but it smelled really good in there. Too chilly today to really enjoy gelato, but it was tempting. I'll go back on a warmer day! Mmmm

Some of the best pastries I've had in NYC. Excellent cannoli and tiramisu. Hard to imagine anything being short of excellent.

We stopped by to pick up dessert for a family dinner and bought the strawberry shortcake, cannolis, creme puff, and Italian doughnut with cannoli cream. There were other desserts that we tried and everything was delicious. My Italian mother-in-law (who grew up living with her Italian grandmother fresh from Italy, only speaking Italian) says that they are a completely authentic... More

This was on my foodie list of 'to indulge' while visiting NYC, so I was delighted to find it was just a couple of blocks from where we were staying. The jewel box of a cabinet display just makes it so hard to decide what to try - one visit is not enough! Went for an afternoon tea and it... More

We found this place by accident when we were looking for a place to sit and relax after we had been walking all day. The service was friendly and helpful. We had a latte and a lobster tail and some butter cookies. I thought they were absolutely wonderful! By far the best lobster tail I have ever had. We will... More

My first visit to NYC would have felt incomplete without New York Cheesecake, and Veniero's didn't let me down. Not only is it an important historic part of the City, but the sheer number of available desserts was mind-boggling. I tried cannoli and, of course, the Cheesecake, but would love to get back again to eat my way through this... More

I'm not going to say I'm some kind of pastry expert but if I had thought that I could have, I would have eaten 20 of their lobster tails. They were fantactic. The latte was good but could have been bigger. We had a cannoli which was good and an assortment of their Italian butter cookes that were very good.... More

This place has been there for a very long time and in that long time they forgot how to make good Italian pastries. Su day breakfast - their Cannoli are stale, their Baba Rum is poorly baked, Sfogliatella was OK. Can't suck them for service or coffee, but I will not go back for pastries there. When Morton Williams pastries... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
