Our family history with Veniero's spans 5 generatons and over 90 years. While we have been gone from the East Village since 1962, we return to our memories at least 2-3 times a year and we always end our day with a visit to the...Caffe. The greatest tribute I can paint for Veniero's is that they have been nothing short of consistent and authentic. Our family tradition will continue with the most current generation and the succeding ones, our gradchildren anxiously await our visit to Veniero's and almost invariably request at the start of our day trip to the EV that we begin the day with, rather than end it with, our special treats at Veniero's. In our hearts forever.More

The desserts were great! I ordered the chocolate volcano. it was extremely filling and honestly a little dense. Don't order their hot chocolate, it tastes store bought. The service is mediocre but their desserts are memorable.

One of the best Italian bakeries in the City! Everything is good and delicious! You will wanna buy everything! Location: It is located in East Village, the bakery is huge with indoor seating, but few because of Covid. Great display of all the cakes and...pastries! Service: buy and go! Due to covid no need to stay here. Food: I ate most of the pastries here. But my favorites are TIRAMISU: it is soo good, I don’t have picture because I indulged it immediately! Lol but it was the best. STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE: the cheesecake is not dense unlike other that it so thick you don’t want to get another bite, this one is soft and silky. The strawberries are fresh too. PIGNOLI COOKIES: this is the best! It melts in your mouth! The perfect pignoli cookies I had! Price rating: 7/10, quite expensive but not that bad for the deliciousness! Been here multiple times and definitely coming back for more! Get my recommendation and you definitely will come back!More

Veniero's is known for its cheesecake and now I know why. I had my first delicious bite of the caffe's Italian variety for a birthday treat. Served with a cup of cappuccino laced with Jameson's Irish Whiskey, it was plate-scraping good. When the next day...I found myself again in the East Village, the temptation to return to try another variety of Veniero cheesecake was too overpowering to deny. I'm a sucker for anything pumpkin spice so when bubbly waitress Svitlana suggested it, I didn't even need to look at the menu. It was the right choice and big slice that it was, it was gone in no time. A caution though: skip the pumpkin spice coffee. Even I found it unpalatable. Stick with the cappuccino, piled high with foamed cream. You won't go wrong.More

It is not an easy thing to do, in keeping a food store (of any kind-restaurant, deli, bakery, et al) viable and fabulous for as lonmg as Veniero's has. I care less about the somewhat ancient appearance of Veneiros than I do about the line...of customers waiting to be served at the counter. I am never less than FIFTH on line when I go to Venieros and I have been there at varying times of day and evening. Venieros Ricotta Cheesecake (NEVER to be confused with that cream cheese belly bomb more popularly offered.) I have had TWO Italian Cheesecakes that topped Venieros, and both were from kitchens of friends. One was the grandmother of an old girlfriend of mine (THE BEST EVER), and the other, a girl-friend of a very Italian, very large family, OUTSTANDING. Venieros turns out their masterpieces several times a day and their pastries and cookies the same. Their coffee and espresso, and variations all are top notch. Quite simply, there is nothing like Venieros on 11th St. in Manhattan. Man, do I miss the time I lived on 14th St. off of Fifth Avenue and Venieros was a hop, skip and a jump. They are no longer the best Bakery around. They passed that categorization 50 years ago. Venieros is now a New York City and USA INSTITUTION.....grinding out the best in Italian pastries, cookies, and Cheesecakes. I cannot comment on other cakes, as something deep inside me will not allow me to order anything but Their UNPARALLELED Italian Cheesecake ! Then there is the obligatory sfugiatelle to munch on, on the way home scattering flaky crumbs of light and crispy filo all over my shirt ! So Venieros looks old. WHO CARES. So did Nonna when she turned out that phenomenal strawbery Italian Cheesecake that is tops in my book until I die. You just cannot improve of perfection, and Venieros is living proof of that, now that Nonna has been gone several years.More

Amazing dessert!! The dessert was fantastic, and it is a definitely a must if you’re in NYC. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but I would recommend the chocolate and raspberry mini cake.

Been going here in excess of 55 years. Their coffee is awesome and some of their pastries are great like anise cookies however they make their cannolis ahead of time allowing the shell to get wet( not good) they are pretty expensive but the go...to spot in the area and their cassata cakes (made special order) snd nut rings are the best. Service is a bit f an ordeal at times. Good fir take out and delivery for partiesMore

This is a staple of many New Yorkers and a timeless icon of New York eating. Besides having fantastic Italian inspired pastries, it's a wonderful place to grab a coffee and a treat at anytime of day. I grew up in New York, so I...always had my father raving about this place. My early exposure was limited to their cakes for birthdays, but later in life it has become a pilgrimage location to get one-off pastries without having the guilt and obligation of having an entire cake a home. The cafe itself is very cozy and beautifully adorned with a Tiffany ceiling. The desserts are all fantastic, but they are definitely Americanized with the level of sweetness (which I love). Excellent cheesecake, but my go to here are the lobster claws (flaky pastries filled with sinful whipcream). The regular coffee is unremarkable, but their espresso drinks are on point. Great for is you need treat or desserts for a fancy occasion.More

Great selection and great price point for Italian pastries and cakes. I always stop by here on my way home to Boston. Fast and efficient service. Large-sized pastries that are delicious. Highly recommend. Everything is delicious.
