Told the company I was with how amazing this place was. It has been 10 years since my initial visit. We were told 1:45 wait on a sat night @9pm. My friend decided to tip the hostess as he was eager to get to a club. Just like that our wait was 0 min and you would have thought I... More

Reasonable wait for a table given how busy it was but the time waited to order and then for the food to arrive was over an hour and we could see the same was happening with other people before and after us. That could be forgiven but I really felt that the quality of the food did not reflect the... More

This was on my daughter's list of restaurants she wanted to visit on our vacation. I must say it was fabulous!! The food was great and the atmosphere was even better, just make sure you call a day ahead and make reservations. You must get a frozen hot chocolate!!!!

So delicious!! Went around 3:00 for treats and waited about 20 min. Delicious frozen hot chocolate and frozen pineapple lime slushie. Waiters are so kind.

We ate the one in Vegas and loved it - so we wanted to try the original one in New York. Unless you are a party of two - don't waste your time going. We went on Sunday at 5pm, with a party of 5. When we check in, we told them we could split our party up into two... More

My wife really wanted our family to go to Serendipity 3 for lunch before a Broadway matinee. We were really glad that we arrived 30+ minutes before it opened as a long line quickly formed. Glad to get a table we were seated in a very dated but whimsical room. The menu is massive (literally its a poster and figuratively... More

I guess when you are as popular as this place is everything else becomes less important. The desserts were awesome and can't complain about the quality of the desserts... the service on the other hand leaves much to be desired. The host staff were the worst! They were unfriendly, surly and not welcoming at all. It felt as though they... More

We try to go to Serendipity every time we visit NYC. We are never disappointed! We arrived at 9:45pm and had a 1 1/4 hr wait (it was Saturday night!) We knew to put out name in and go to Dylan's to buy candy. When we did get in, we had not only the traditional, famous Frozen Hot Chocolate but... More

My wife and I had the chicken pot pie and the frozen hot chocolate. Both were really good! The portions, especially the desserts were huge and most people would be hard pressed to finished entree and dessert. Atmosphere were really cool! We would go back again to try the humble pie we saw on the menu.

We went to Serendipity one evening just for the desserts. We did not have a reservation, but we were seated quickly. The desserts are expensive, but they are huge! Plan to be hungry or to share! The restaurant is decorated in a fun way. Service was okay.

Thank FDinger

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
