We ate pre-theatre dinner at Aureole on July 15. The server appeared to be following rules in everything she did and said and acted impersonally, almost robotically in handling our order and responding to questions. As we were eating each dish, she pestered us frequently to inquire whether we were happy with the meal. The tuna tartar appetizer was small... More

It was the first time for me and I had place in the restaurant but in the first room were is not so formal and you can... More

I had high expectations for this meal and was not disappointed. We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine matching and every dish / wine combination was superb. The Black Cod being a particular highlight but the Tuna also being a stunning first course. The service was exactly what you expect in a high end restaurant with attentive but... More

I stumbled across Aureole and WOW. Just WOW. Little did I know it is one of the most famous restaurants in NYC. Staff and food was 5 star. Highly recommend.

This was our first time back to Aureole in a long time and it was a perfect evening. The pre theater menu is worth trying. The service was just enough that you felt cared for but not smothered. I would have preferred the dinning room area but they don't serve the pre theater menu.

It was our last day in New York City and we had dined in a few Michelin stared restaurants and wanted to end our holiday on a high as we had recently got engaged and celebrated my boyfriends 30th birthday. I found the restaurant online and it was only 2 blocks from where we were staying. On arrival the restaurant... More

Had an amazing dinner with friends. Made reservation via Citi Prestige and enjoyed sparking wine toast, small deserts and gift from pastry chef at end of the night. Burger and lobster tail were amazing, even the fries. Will definitely be back.

If there was a to give -stars, I would do that. For a high end restaurant that has earned a Michelin star, I had certain expectations. But to be clear, those expectations were pretty basic. That I would have good service. That my food would be good tasting. That I would have SILVERWARE. But alas, none of this came to... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by friends who go there frequently and is one of their top favorites. We sat in the Liberty room and had a prix fixe dinner. Healthy and tastefully presented choices and portions are offered. Excellent wines, breads ,salads, salmon and lemon cake. Attentive service.

Offering a range of dining options, the Liberty Room is smart and casual with walnut-topped tables and a back-lit, etched glass front bar with polished natural zinc top surface, the intimate Dining Room is designed in both lighting and texture to give off a golden glow, and The Halo Private Dining Room is wrapped with fabric panel and silver leaf walls, dotted with sculptural back-lit flame sconces. Now in its 25th year, Aureole is contemporary urban elegance.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
