We stayed at the Beacon Hotel which is next door to this café. We had breakfast there 3 times and was excellent each time. The omelettes are amazing you can choose almost anything you like to have in them, stuck for choice. Good food good coffee good staff and excellent location

Many eating places like to think that they offer good food and service. NYC was a little disappointing overall, however, Cafe Viand was a favourite of ours. They didn't pretend to be gourmet, but the food was always very nice and the staff were great. Perhaps you wouldn't travel a long way to eat here per se, however, if you... More

Eaten here many times now. Great service, great menu choices and I know I can always get some vegetables here! Burgers and pizzas get too much after a while so I switched to salads, but needed vegetables - so Cafe Viand are my go to for dinner when in NYC.

We were staying at The Beacon Hotel and this is next door! What a find. Great choice of meals. We went for dinner, but they are open all day. Good service and good food.

Want a place that has good food and service with a smile, this is your place. Had a homemade salmon burger over lettuce and a salad on the side. Very healthy and tasty.

The meal and service was very good but there is a service charge added onto the bill, I don't agree with that as I should have the choice.

Located next to the Hotel Beacon and the Beacon Theatre this cafe has convenience and comfort food down pat. Homemade meatloaf, great burgers and a decent Reuben and the house red is OK as well. On the high side of diners we visited in our 9 days in the upper west side.

Because of its proximity to the Hotel Beacon, this over-priced coffee shop has a steady stream of new customers, mostly tourists, who don't realize at first what an over-priced but otherwise very ordinary eatery this is. If you're visiting, look around for other options. Locals would never eat there.
