Our son and his wife surprised us with a visit to Butter for dinner. We shared appetizers and sides and each of us enjoyed our entrees. As fans of Chopped, it was an experience that we will never forget. The wine, drink, and menu recommendations worked for us and we would happily return, should the opportunity present itself. Pleasing dining... More

Shiny dark wood, deep booths and circular banquettes. Nice wine selection. A series of amuse bouches and a good Caesar salad started off. Dinner was a skirt steak deep red in the center and well browned on the outside. Very tender. Plate of mixed pastries encouraged grazing. Would come again for a special occasion.

I've been to this restaurant several times before for dinners with colleagues, clients, etc. This time I was with my 14-year old daughter and we both loved it! My daughter has severe nut and seafood allergies (we carry an epi-pen in case of accidental exposure) so we have to be very high maintenance when ordering -- the server was very... More

Went here with friends/family on 12/04/16, after watching a matinee performance of "Waitress." Booked via OpenTable, without a problem. We were really looking forward to it, as we are fans of Alex Guarnaschelli from the Food Network. And it didn't disappoint! From the lodge-y, relaxed feel of the restaurant (which is downstairs), to the attentive service, we knew we'd have... More

We had come to see Alexandra "Alex" Guarnaschelli from MasterChef but was told that she was not in. That was fine, everybody needs a day off, but the waitress was a little off about it and closed down the conversation. Which is a shame as this was a major selling point of the restaurant, and we wanted to know more... More

My Daughter and I had Brunch here, and I consumed more than I should have because it was so delicious. The wait staff was very attentive, but my best company was my Daughter. We had a great experience. I would love to return.

I guess it depends on the night you go or the server you get as we had a great server with no issues like others have had. Overall a great experience. Yes its not cheap but truly in NYC its not bad comparatively speaking. My only suggestion make sure you book in advance and for US.... we would have preferred... More

We were seated promptly upon our arrival. Nice Schramsberg rose bubbly; husband's Absolut martini perfect. Dinner was prix fixe for Xmas Eve. Amuse-bouche of a Kumamoto oyster with pomegranate mignonette was delightful. App. was a take on the classic NYC clams Casino--baked Manila clams & mussels with hen-of-the-woods mushroom gratin and Meyer lemon vinaigrette. Entree of potato-crusted wild king salmon... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
