We went here for dinner in July. Atmosphere is fancy and eat at the bar allow you to see them cooking with this huge wok, impressive. Food unfortunately was not tasty, miss flavor and we found more improved the environmental than the thayfood (and we use to eat Thai food).

Was taken to this restaurant by a friend of a friend and have to say was greatly surprised. We ordered quite a lot along five people. My all time favorite, "marinated baby eggplant," fantastic taste. Perfect for groups or couples. I end up having my anniversary there as well.

This restaurant is at Union Square (14th Street). It is easy to get to via subway. It is busy so avoid it during lunch hour. I ate at 1:30 and there was no wait. If heavily spiced foods are not for you, ask the waitress for suggestions. I had the Spicy Seafood Soup and it was too spicy for me

A great place for a drink or a bite to eat. I tried the Lychee Martini which was nice but not really my thing. Prices are reasonable, try the pork dumplings. it is noisey as most places in NYC are on a Friday night but don't let that put you off.

We only had the disadvantage of sharing a table for 4 in six adults. Apart from this the food was alright and the service quick and careful enough. Prices in line with the location.

Not complicated menu, very good and not many things are fried. Soups are huge and flavorful, pad thai is awesome and lunch special are good size and affordable. It can get crowded but they have a lot of space. Salads are really good.

Food is ok, very over priced for the low quality of food. Waitress was extremely nice though but probably would not go back.

The food at Republic is great! If you like Asian fusion then this is a spot for you. The food taste great, its a quick and a nice break from shopping all day in the city. I enjoy the broken rice and bbq pork chop.

We went to Republic not knowing exactly what to expect. The minute we stepped in we were very pleased. The atmosphere was fantastic, very friendly and welcoming staff. A nice menu with not too many options The food came out very fast, delicious and very tasty! Highly recommend for a quick bite to eat.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
