This place is a real Italian dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious, so good that we went back twice. The rigatoni Pitti was my favourite dish, but i think you'd struggle to find anything that isn't fantastic. The staff are a little hot and cold, some are lovely and some are a bit stand offish, but that is just... More

I m Italian and when I feel homesick Bar Pitti is the only place to go in New York. Forget about all the BS place with Italian chef names because most of them they are not Italian at all... Giovanni owner of bar Pitti is a real Italian from Toscani that provide you only Italian home food style. All the... More

This is a very "simple" restaurant, nicely located, excellent food and friendly service... what else do you need?. We tried the bistecca with rocket... delicious! Also the pasta and the prosciutto and cheese selection. Nice variety of italian wines... Recommended!

This place is so authentic! The waiters are all from Italy and the food is absolutely amazing! I want to go back and try more of the delicious specials! The only downside is that it's cash only- but the entrees arn't that expensive so it's doable!

This nice family business give you great food almost as good as in Italy. The Italian speaking staff give a great atmosphere. The staff will gladly joke around with you and attempt to teach Italian. The only down side is that it's a cash only establishment. I would recommend this place to anybody wanting original Italian food. Try the mozzarella... More

Delicious, consistently good. Enjoyed the fresh paparadelle with meat sauce tonight. One of our favorites in the west village.

The food is ok. I had the same pasta in other places. No news on the food. The waiters really wanted to close the restaurant because it was 11:15 pm, so the service was not good. The burrata is really very good. They do not accept credit card and there is no sign or warning about that. Good to go..

Nothing good to say about the service - menu is written in Italian - fine since it is an Italian restaurant, but they make it clear they have no interest or time to explain what the items are so have your Google translate ready! There was no refilling water or asking if we wanted any more drinks.. in fact, I... More

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
