French bistro style food - so many of our favourites we found it hard to choose. The confit duck was delicious, as was the duck sheppards pie. Both strongly recommended. But the restaurant is massive with high ceilings; when we arrived just after 8:30pm it was packed and very noisy. But we were served quickly and efficiently.

New York classic - hostess sorted out the air conditioning so that our awesome dinner wasn't ruined by a blast of cold air every time the door opened. It was a delicious dinner of goats cheese and beets, steak and tarte Tatin. We'll be back!

Terrific variety of breakfasts but quite touristy. Still an iconic NY institution. Some friendly wait staff and some not. Fabulous old school interior and lovely atmosphere.

We had lunch at Balthazar and it was probably the best meal of the week. The restaurant was busy and bustling with a fabulous atmosphere, where waiters were still attentive and considerate. The food was amazing - i had a goats cheese tart to start and the mac and cheese for main! Both were great. My partner had onion soup... More

This has been my favourite restaurant worldwide since I visited it 8 to 10 years ago. I return to it every time I am in New York. It never fails to please. The food is excellent the service is exceptional. The restaurant is almost always packed so definitely make a reservation as soon as your trip is planned. The price... More

5 of us came here for breakfast. Some of us ordered the Eggs Norwegian (Eggs Benedict) and really enjoyed it. A little on the pricey side but hey, it's New York City and still less than a hotel breakfast.

Busy restaurant, took us 15 mins to be seated around 2:15pm. The host is not very keen to find seat or actually working here. Food: I like the onion soup, very French. The bread had really high reputation as some said, more French than the French. My view is, it's good bread, period. Love the salad seasoned with truffle olive... More

Solid spot for delicious classic French bistro fare. Had the burger, which comes on a sesame seeded bun and deliciously semi melted cheese. Also had Les Oeufs by way of Eggs Norwegian $26, which is poached eggs spinach, artichoke, bechamel, and parmesan. Though the frites looked like they had been fried in old oil, it was overall a solid brunch.

Came across this French bistro while we were strolling along Spring st. The red canopy is just so eye-catching. We took a look inside and liked the feel of the place, and they just happened to have empty table for us on a weekday before lunch hour began. Note that this place tends to be busy, so you might not... More
