France light in the heart of Manhattan. No dresscode and no fatty sauces. Noisy and very tight between tables. Good but not excellent selection of both food and wine. Octopus carpaccio was delicious. Service can be a bit off putting if you're american I guess. No wifi. Booking ahead is essential.

Don't know why I have not written about Balthazar until now. I've been coming here since it opened, I have their cookbook and I use it at home a lot! Since I have started reviewing beginning of last year, I have eaten here six times, I've only come to NYC 3 times longer than a day in that duration. Some... More

We were a party of 6 with reservations. Due to getting a taxi from 57th ave. (uptown?) we were going to be late - so we called. They had a nice table waiting for us even though the place was packed (this was for lunch). Food was excellent, service was very good considering the crowd. Really liked the oysters -... More

I found this restaurant visually appealing but the service was terrible, the coffee even worse and the food subpar considering the cost! If you must visit, I would recommend popping by for a drink so that you can say you've been but I'd spend my cash on food elsewhere.

Always a fan of Balthazar. Went with family and kids on a Saturday for an early dinner. Service was excellent and food was great as expected. Suggest to make a reservation via open table to secure a table. The warm chocolate cake with white chocolate ice cream is a must have.

Balthazar restaurant in New York is a well-known establishment. But for us it was the first time to visit there. Well it was a success. The food was very very good and totally justified the reputation. The décor is most appealing with its sort of Art Nouveau of beginning of the twenties' 20 century style. The service was extremely friendly... More

We have eaten their every time we visit. NYC. We had a 1:30 reservation and were seated promptly upon arrival by the Maitre Di Kouider Zioueche who has been there as long as I can remember. Food was excellent as was the service. It never disappoints!!

The atmosphere at Balthazar is fabulous...both the decor and the bustle. The food was very good -- especially the french fries!
