MICHELIN Guide's Point of View

As ageless as its beautiful patrons, the brassy and mirrored Balthazar should be called “quintessentially SoHo” because it invented the term. One of th...

My daughter and I went here. I hadn't been here in probably 20 years. WE had the country pate and the dover sole .They both were delicious. Service was very good and it was really crowded with a young crowd, 35 to 45, I would...say.. It reminds me of Europe. Will go back sooner next time. s 'More

Came here for a goodbye with friends and really enjoyed the experience. I do think the prices have gone a little absurd however the service is good and the ambience is nice. The steak is just OK but the french fries are out of this...world and I highly recommend it.More

This restaurant located in Soho neighborhood is amazing. Steak tartar, tomato salad, papardelle, steak au pouvre, creme brullee, anything that you ask is delicious. Come here and after walking around.

Daughter wanted special brunch and chose Balthazar. Beautiful place and nice enough service but food was subpar. My first cup of coffee was hot but the refill was room temperature at most. The eggs on the eggs Benedict were so boiled the yolk was completely...solid. Apple cinnamon pancakes were okay. Extremely expensive for a meal not worth finishing. (We left most of it on the plate,)More

Coming back to NYC from our rural environment, Balthazar embodies all that I love most about the City. The place is inviting, beautiful, with a hum of people happy to share the space. Host and Waitstaff couldn't be more helpful, genuinely warm and set a...special tone to our day. You want the omelette with/without something? Add berries to the plate? OF COURSE (oh I love NY). The latte? Outstanding!More

This was my third trip to Balthazar over the years and it has been excellent every time. The service great and the food is amazing. I haven't ventured out beyond brunch/breakfast so I can't speak for their lunch/dinner menu but everything we have tried on...the breakfast menu has be delicious. The mimosa & bellini's are quite pricey at $17 each but a nice treat.More

Worthy of its reputation this restaurant was one of the best meals we have ever had, with a super friendly waitress who looked after us well. Bustling people watching spot, great food, yummy wines to suit
