Nice small traditional Italian restaurant. We had an office party of 9 people. The appetizers were good, We all had a variety of main courses and they were all very good, but we skipped dessert and just dipped some biscotti in coffee. The waiter works very hard and handles all the tables with a single busboy. but he is very... More

We've been to Po several times over the last several years and it's still a favorite. Great food service and ambience. And no pressure to vacate after eating that's manifest. The only slight mar on this occasion was a cranky hostess who was either having a bad day or needs some training on communication skills.

For an intimate dinner with excellent service and innovative dishes, run to " Pó Restaurant" just off of Bleeker Street at 31 Cornelius Street in the West Village. Their Salmon with sweet potato caponata is heaven! Great ambiance, and staffed by a creative chef. For dessert, you can't miss with the “Pó Sundae” - fresh mint gelato, cinnamon spiced pine... More

We wandered into Po before a show at the Blue Note in the Village, and were quite pleased with the service and the food. Gnocchi in lamb ragu was delicious, as was the special, a sea bass ravioli. Bread was tasty and fresh. Service was friendly, helpful, and quick. The place is fairly small, so if you're going to eat... More

Loved this restaurant - i cannot say enough wonderful things - the staff, the food, the service, the location - it was all fantastic. I have been hearing about this spot for years and I finally got the opportunity to have dinner there. I will go back again and again!

Po is typical of village restaurants in that it is very small with tables on top of one and other and very noisy. The atmosphere is lively and everyone is there to have a great time and to enjoy good wine and some fantastic Italian food. The service is very relaxed and friendly and you will not be rushed through... More

The food was very good, no question. And the place is full of life. For the price, i expected more in the creation of each dish as everything we ordered had white beans as some part of the dish. Needed more variety. And the service was okay, not great. We asked our waiter, and other people serving our table several... More

I only wish I'd known about Po sooner! The food was fantastic and service was spot-on. I'm glad we chose to sit at the bar because David, the bartender for the evening, was very nice, entertaining, and a lot of fun. I look forward to returning.

This was a very very good meal, not the greatest we've ever had. But definitely top 15%. There was a reasonably priced tasting menu, which we've ordered before, and which included pumpkin ravioli with an amaretti crumb sauce, which was outstanding. Gnocchi with Bolognese sauce, which were very very good. And a tasty pork dish. The chef selects on your... More

We arrived at 2:30 and were seated. No one asked us if we would like a drink. At 2:45 a waiter walked over and said we needed to order because the kitchen was closing at 3. As I needed a moment to read the menu he was generous enough to acquiesce. He then came back 2 minutes later and asked... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
