Dined here for the first time recently, before attending theatre nearby. The pre-theatre menu was good value, and the food didn't disappoint. Excellent pre-dinner cocktails too. The restaurant was fairly quiet when we arrived but filled up quickly and was very buzzy by the time...we left for the theatre. There seemed to be a lot of serving staff, and they were all very stylish, well-groomed and efficient (although not especially warm.)More

I’ve been to Indochine a few times and each time it never disappoints. It’s a great place for a lively dinner. Staff there are models (or want to be). It’s that kind of place. Went with 2 girlfriends. Got the sizzling beef, so delicious. Doesn’t...come with anything but a few leaves of baby bok choy though, and at $36 (or $34?) maybe they could have thrown on another side. Also got the fluke crudo, Vietnamese steamed wontons, and noodle salad and sea bass. All things relatively delish and we left satisfied (and $100 poorer) Would return.More

I remember eating the red snapper here back in 2007 and it was one of the most beautiful, delicious things I'd ever eaten… fast forward to 2019 and they've ruined it; the recipe is completely different and it's been downgraded to a fried snack with...the remains of the fish as pointless decoration. The crab cakes and chocolate truffle were decent but lacking in portion. Overall it's now a pretty typical restaurant that is no longer worth the price.More

If you can handle the noise in the space, this food is amazing. Really tasty dishes. Everything we got was perfect. Fried tofu, sea bass, and crispy red snapper. Nice servers... felt welcoming

I used to go to Indochine 3-4 times a year due to its convenient proximity to the Public Theatre. But no more. I am thru. In October I made a reservation for November, almost 30 days before the date of the reservation. Then, just the...day before my reservation the restaurant had the nerve to call and inform me that they are closing for a private party and that they would not be able to honor my reservation. I asked when did they find out about the party and one time the restaurant said they just found out and the other time they indicated they were calling people in the order they made their reservation. What did they offer for our inconvenience? We could more our reservation to one of their sister restaurants that were more expensive and farther from the theater. I dont think so. Too many other options in the area. They have lost a customer as a result of their laissez faire attitude. Manager could not be bothered to get on the phone.More

Went with my siblings while in New York; very buzzy fashionable place food was really good especially the kale salad and pear wontons BUT our table was ready and Empty for 30 minutes before they chose to seat us; we asked for nibbles at the...bar and we were glared at in disapproval: the staff do not crack a smile and are incredibley Unfriendly. Overall we had a great evening really enjoyed the food but I believe the waiting staff could do with a lesson in friendlinessMore

The interior of Indochine is fun. Palm trees painted on the walls. Huge bouquets of real flowers. Cool vibe. Unfortunately, the food is not as good as it has been in the past, when it was strictly Vietnamese. The beef salad and summer rolls are...okay. The nuoc mam sauce is not vibrant. The flavors just didn't have the intensity that is usually found in Vietnamese food. The restaurant was packed on a Thursday night. The drinks are good and not unreasonably-priced. However, dinner for two can easily, and quickly, be well over $100. The servers were in a rush, including when taking our order.More

I’ve been trying to visit Indochine for years and finally the stars aligned. The food was great, with the exception of the grilled salmon and the spring rolls. We had a large party of 8 and everyone left happy. The service was good in spots...and the restaurant really bent over backwards to accommodate last minute changes we had to make.More

This place was good, period. The place is really loud, the service was just ok, and of course the food was really average, i would not recommend this place having so many better options in NyC, I would waste time on this place.

The decor is impressive but the food tastes are too far from the ordinary and so you might find that a good number of the people are displeased. Try an Italian restaurant with nice decor, most people like Italian food.

I've only eaten at Indochine pre-theater and it was not noisy at all then. I don't know if it gets noisier as it gets busier later in the evening. I would strongly recommend though that you request one of the curved booths... More
