Finally scored a reservation here after months of trying - and so glad I did! Given the prices - $88 prix fixe is for an appetizer, two half-sized entrees and dessert - this is clearly for special occasions only. But I will now want every special occasion to be celebrated here! Both appetizers at the table were superb, there was... More

Calm, elegant, good service, and relatively quiet for a New York restaurant. But $38 for four scallops seemed a bit much, even though they were delicious.

My husband and I, along with two children ages 10 and 12, met a family friend at this restaurant while on holiday in NYC. The ambiance is intimate and beautiful and the food is excellent. Portions are small, which is to be expected with gourmet dining. It is about quality here. I was hoping for more vegetarian options, but was... More

I dined with a friend and we enjoyed a great meal. I did the 4 course chef's menu where the duck was certainly a highlight. Yummy cocktails and great service. The host was especially nice in helping us to get a table after I messed up the reservation.

We tried to get a weekend reservation for a couple of months. So glad we persevered! If you want a more romantic (and quieter) seat, ask to be seated in the back room. It was perfect. The decor was both romantic and rustic. Mas is known for it's fresh farm to table food. We loved that they had a few... More

love this restaurant! I came in a few weeks ago and can't stop thinking about how tasty our meal was. My friend and I opted to share two of their four course tasting menus. I got to taste 8 different dishes and everyone was amazing. Top favorites were the Celery root soup, the Halibut, and the Duck. Drinks were also... More

I really didn't get the "farmhouse" thing here, as the Menu had as much seafood and other offerings on it as things that one could ever find at a French Country Farmhouse, BUT just one bite and I got over it. The corn soup was perfect even without the scallop (left out at my request), the Chicken was done to... More

Our group chose the tasting menu with wine and enjoyed it all. We were treated to a lagniappe of mussels to begin which set the mood for the evening. The service was excellent as was the food which led to a great evening.

I went to Mas with a large group on business and was not disappointed. We did the tasting menu and everything was perfectly portioned, very tasty and service was fantastic. I'd recommend this in a hearbeat

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
