I always try to go at least once when I get to NY. In fact I can get a little cranky without a Babbitt fix. It is perfect for lunch on the quiet side or dinner on the total NY scene side but the food is always the very best imaginable as is the service. Can't be beat no matter... More

Eclectic crowd and fantastic food make this worth the stop. I'm not a huge pasta fan, but Babbo stands out due to the fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentations.

We are in Quebec city for five days and ate at Babbo restaurant three times. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio listening to the horses clomp by and it was a restful place to get rejuvenated with the amount of walking that we were doing. Staff was friendly and food was consistently tasty.

This was quite a treat. Italian cuisine done incredibly well. The beet dish was also a stand out. The wine pairings went so well with our respective courses.

This restaurant has a wonderful ambience and decor. The food is amazingly delicious. The staff has quite the attitude and makes you feel like you are lucky to be served. Waiter was more concerned about correcting the pronounciation of the dishes than explaining what they were. The music is outright offensive. After a few songs of AC/DC I asked to... More

We went to Babbo to taste the Celebration of Black Truffles. This menu are composed by three courses, a beef carpaccio, followed by an agnolotti with parmiggiano and an hanger steak with fregula. All of the three dishes were good, but the agnolotti was absolutely divine! As Babbo offers the option of wines by glass using the Coravin device, it... More

I have to come here whenever I'm in NYC. Everything on the menu is excellent. On July 2016, I brought my daughter ( 5 yo) for the first time here. Ordered a spaghetti with butter sauce (not on the menu). It may sound like a very simple dish but I almost couldn't believe it when she finished 3/4 adult portion... More

Babbo is a fixture here in Greenwich village that I have meant to visit for some time. Not a huge fan of celebrety chefs, but had heard good things about it. Had a great meal. Very authentically italian, which is my heritage. For a relatively famous place in Manhattan, it was actually a good value. The wine choice was unique... More

Appropriately priced great cuisine in a wonderful neighborhood. We traveled from Ohio to NYC for a long weekend and booked our table 1 month in advance. The scallops were amazing and the ambiance was perfect. We actually met a gentleman from our town at the next table. Small world. Get a reservation early if you're planning a special occasion here.... More

One of many reasons that we returned here was the unforgotten taste of Lamb's Brain Ravioli several years ago. It even mentioned specifically by Ruth Reichl, food critic in her book Garlic and Sapphires. Although that dish is no longer on the menu the Beef Cheek Ravioli will become just as memorable. Starters: Lamb's Tongue, succulent and perfectly seasoned and... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
