This was my second visit to Babbo and I wasn't let down. The food was phenomenal. We over ordered as always; beets, octopus, goat cheese tortellini, sweet potato lunes, fettuccini, and the scallops. I recommend trying the scallops while they're still there. Also, if you're feeling adventurous try the sweet corn gelato. My only complaint is that we were seated... More

A great romantic spot with simply the best pasta ever. Service was great and my wife and I enjoyed the rock 'n roll background music. We had a great birthday dinner and enjoyed every bite.

We were given the name of this restaurant by friends that visit NYC often. Their recommendation was to book a month ahead of time because the meal will be worth it. After the first course, I texted my friend (something I have never done in the past during a meal) to thank him. This was THE best meal this summer... More

My mom really wanted to try this place out on a recommendation and it was excellent! It's a two story restaurant that has a very vintage vibe. I felt a little under dressed as most people eating here are celebrating something or coming right after work, so while they will let you in with shorts and flip flops, I would... More

We celebrated a special birthday at Babbo, and in most ways, it did not disappoint. The food was memorable as ever. My husband and I had a fabulous insalata caprese (creamy mozzarella and assorted tomatoes, each of which actually tasted like a tomato!) and the signature dish, beef cheek ravioli - scrumptious. Our guests raved about the pork chop and... More

Babbo has long been a staple for us when we visit Manhattan about once a year. This year, we came on successive nights and were seated for the first time upstairs. I much prefer the main dining room to upstairs. The food is very good but I could not help but feel that one of my old favorites was losing... More

My fourth time at this incredibly delicious, authentic restaurant. A joy to bring New Yorkers and travel companions here to this hidden gem. It's authentic upscale food with a slight California twist., Fabulous service, whether lunch or dinner. Bustling at dinner, so plan an hour wait if you are a drop in. I will not go to NYC without going... More

Babbo receives plenty of rapturous applause from dining pundits, but not from me. I would class this as a very average performance by restaurant that by many accounts can do better. It began poorly as we were left stranded at the maitre d's desk for 10 minutes whilst the over abundant staff flapped around apologizing. After being seated our waiter... More

My husband and I generally enjoy Batali restaurants and dine often at Esca and Del Posto, occasionally at Lupa and Otto. We've gone to his newest sensation, La Sirena, twice already and adored it both times. So we were planning to be in the Village and thought it was time to revisit Babbo, since we hadn't been there in several... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
