We went there with another couple after an afternoon baseball game. The restaurant is noisy, but not to a fault. The food was beautifully prepared, served at a reasonable pace and the flavors were mostly (one order did not really work) spectacular. Mario is the King of pasta, and Babbo has great pasta. Our only problem was a wait staff... More
Decided to go all the way across the street for dinner our last night in NYC. Read (somewhere) that Babbo had (or had had) a Michelin star, so we were curious. The restaurant was packed (at least ground floor), but no problem with a table since we put in a reservation. Got seated next to a nice couple from Mexico... More
We had a great meal and a great experience here. Thanks to the staff for accommodating all our needs - splitting pasta dishes, explaining menus to our teenagers, and giving a a great table upstairs. We had David Bowie playing the whole time during dinner which pleased us greatly. We were told that the music selection was from "Marios iPod"... More
I was overjoyed that we were able to get in to Babbo. I dined there years ago and was blown away by the sheer quality. This time, it was very different. We had a 5:30 reservation. We actually were the first patrons on the second floor. We received our appetizers, which were good. Then the restaurant started filling up. We... More
My wife and I enjoyed one of the most memorable lunches we've ever eaten at Babbo on our last visit to Manhattan. We were lucky to slip in just before the lunch service ended so we had no wait at all for our table and our service was excellent and all of our food came out right on time. Since... More
Babbo is welcoming, beautiful and they make great food. We went to a Michelin starred restaurant the day before - Babbo was much, much better for food, service, comfort and ambience. A fantastic restaurant - thank you for a lovely evening.
I hesitated giving Babbo five stars because the woman at the front, whose name is Nika, has an aura of snobbery Babbo doesn't deserve. My wife and I were dressed well, are an older couple, and made reservations for lunch. Nika led us to this miniscule table at the far end of the bar which would be uncomfortable for an... More
After few attempts to make a reservation to this great little restaurant we where able to experience the quality of Mario Batali ...once again!!! reservation at 11.15 pm not to bed considering that we had time to experience a great Broadway play before.....!!! Still at that time the restaurant was full of customers very caring attention from the hostess to... More
This is a really good place for dinner. The linguini was ok and could have stronger flavour. The salad was amazing. The whole fish was fantastic and the bees checks were quite special. The freddo was heavenly. Wine list is a little hard and complex to follow but they recommend well. The place has great feel and we had dinner... More
I probably would not be able to stand the loud music. As far as I am concerned, loud music has no place in a fine restaurant. This alone would stop me from go in to Babbo. I read the reviews and some say the food is not exceptional and for the price I would expect the food to be excellant and the service extremely good. Do you have gluten free options and is there a dress code ?
