When leaving the Whitney museum and looking for a nice cup of coffee or a glass of good wine, go to this sweet little place for a plate of French cheeses and a French accent to everything.

Note: We came here with a group for brunch; therefore this review pertains to that experience and may not at acurately reflect experiences for other times of the day. Our "brunch" with endless mimosas and bellinis was at 3:30 in the afternoon. The service was fast and the food good. There are a few small tables at the front for... More

I was looking for an interesting brunch spot near the new Whitney Museum of American Art. I researched some options and Paradou seemed like the perfect fit - I booked a table online. This place seems to have built quite an avid following...for all the wrong reasons. I felt like I was at an NYU sorority party. Does NYU even... More

My daughter and six friends went today for a birthday brunch. They got there at 1:30 one hour and 45 mins later they didn't have any food brought to them. The waiter disappeared their water glass was not even refilled. When they spoke to the manager he said the kitchen was backed up, the two tables on either side of... More

From the moment I arrived at this place I was instantly turned off by the notably rude and obnoxious door staff, anyone would have thought they were guarding the top VIP spot in the whole of NYC - even then rudeness is unnecessary - but the point being these guys thought they had the most important job on earth. The... More

This place is a gem- great location, great service, great cocktails, great ambiance! Our server was a doll, such a gentleman, very sweet and great personality. We stopped in for the bottomless champagne cocktail brunch for a bachelorette party; the cocktails were delicious, especially the black currant. The inside garden provided the perfect environment for our girls brunch and the... More

I am struggling a bit to write this review because the sequence of events that lead to this 1-star rating are a little astonishing to me. I was charged with planning a bachelorette weekend for my best friend who is getting married in July. I have been planning this weekend for months. One of the events that we wanted to... More

Not sure i've even been to a "cooler" place for brunch. Out the back room, in a kind of sun room - wasn't the coolest in the midday sun so in summer you might want to avoid a few of the tables. but we really enjoyed the signature champagne cocktail and the food. All yummy in a really fun atmosphere.

Unlimited bubbly and bubbly cocktails? Check. Loud and proud motown and soul soundtrack? Check. Louder and prouder and absolutely wonderful waiter full of laughs, sass, flirting and great food recommendations? Check. Bacon crack? Check. Oh yes. Check it. Check that bad boy out. Really really great food? Check. Natty little venue dripping with character and pizazz? Check. Ridiculously cheap brunch... More

I thought this was a terrific place. The food was well-prepared and affordable and the service was good. You can have a conversation unlike the loud and packed restaurants in this part of town. We stumbled on this after being turned away from other trendier places that had hour or longer waits. It is a very nice place and a... More

Welcome to Paradou, a little bit of Provençal paradise in the heart of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Behind the sky-blue doors of a 19th century carriage house, is a restaurant that will transport you to your own quiet, romantic corner of the South of France.

High ceilings and white-washed brick walls, bar and tables constructed of vintage French wine crates are the backdrop for a highly acclaimed list featuring more than 40 French wines, matched by an equally extensive and innovative seasonal menu overseen by Paul Bocuse & Daniel Boulud alum, Executive Chef, Kfir Ben Ari.

As warm, welcoming and inviting as Paradou is, it is OUR HIDDEN, YEAR-ROUND GARDEN that makes it a true refuge in NYC. Possessing one of the most unique outdoor, all-season spaces, Paradou offers a wonderful setting for gatherings, whether an intimate dinner for two or large parties up to 100, in a private corner of idyllic Provençe in the heart of New York.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
