I visited Thalassa with my girlfriend during restaurant week. The dishes served were tremendous. I can really recommend the octopus with the Gigantes beans as well as the Lauraki and the lamb chops. The atmosphere is relaxed and the music is not too loud for...a conversation. All in all, an experience that was most definitely worth it. If you ever need a great Greek in Manhattan, you cannot do much wrong here.More

Excellent Greek and American in a beautiful setting. Super attentive service. Try the oysters at the bar before the dinner, the sauces are exquisite. Definitely pick the trio of fish tartare, the dips, and the octopus to start. The lamb shank is a great entree,...as are the lavraki and sword fish. Awesome place for a big party or couples alike. More casual than Milo’s or Avra midtown.More

Thalassa is absolutely amazing!!! I had my baby shower there (as well as engagement party back in the day) and both events were remarkable. They are super accommodating, work with your budget, offer you so much more for a much better price than other NYC...restaurants would and everything is beautiful. The food is always delicious and unique, you can't go wrong with their scallops wrapped in gataifi or lamb chops or lavraki... Service is great as everyone is super kind and attentive. I highly recommend Thalassa for your next event or dinner date.More

I had two amazing events at Thalassa Restaurant. One was my wedding reception, the other was my non-profit's annual fundraiser. Both events were magical, fun, classy, but not stuffy. The food is delicious and the service outstanding. I can always count on Thalassa to make...my events perfect. They even provided lovely decor, making my life so much easier. I also had a few meals, snacks, drinks here, and every single time was just a lovely, easy, and delicious experience. Thank you Thalassa!More

My wife and I dined on Saturday night with a 7:00 reservation. We were given a warm welcome and reviewed the fish options (whole fish on ice) prior to being seated. Our server was very helpful in making our choices. We were given warm bread...and a combination plate of hummus, olives, and olive oil to start. We shared a simple arugula salad. And then we were delighted with grilled snapper and vegetables. We were very content with our meal and did not order dessert. But they provided a complimentary small glass of dessert wine and a small sampler of treats anyway. The decor of the restaurant is very nice as well. A wonderful evening. We will be back.More

We arrived at 830 on Friday night and were alarmed to find no one there in the place. As most people we judge how good a restaurant is by how busy it is especially in NYC and especially on Friday night at 830. We almost...got up and left but decided to stay. The food was pretty good but the service was 75% started off ok and then they disappeared. We won’t be back too many options in NYC! It wasn’t cheap either! The whole experience was a little strange.More

I love Greek food and enjoy it as often as possible. I can say that this restaurant far exceeded my expectations. The seafood was fresh and full of flavor. Our appetizer was the grilled octopus, and for my main, I ordered the swordfish with asparagus....I hope to revisit soon so that I can sample more from the menu. The service was five star as well.More

A wonderful first class dining experience. The maitre'd was extremely professional and courteous. As I am Greek any greek restaurant has to meet high standards and Thalassa more than met them. We had a number of small plates which not only were delicious but also...quite large in portion size. The decor and ambiance make for a great date establishment. Service was first rate with our server anticipating our needs but not overbearingMore

Perfect lunch in a lovely setting. I went with 4 of my friends and all of us agreed that this is one restaurant that we would return to in the near future. To start, the service was exceptional. Steven, the maitre de welcomed us with...a glass of ice water as we waited for the rest of our party. He checked in with us during the meal to make sure that everyone had whatever they needed. He made each of us feel welcomed and he as well as the talented chef sealed the deal that we would return. Fausto the server was also very attentive and listened to any dietary concerns. Often during restaurant week some restaurants have a strict policy about changes but Fausto, made sure that each of us got exactly what we discussed, eliminated the salmon for one friend, the onions for me, extra dressing for another, etc. In terms of the menu, the first course was a choice between Spanakopita or one of two salads. Three of my friends had the spinach pie with mixed greens and feta cheese and loved it. In terms of the main course, there were 4 choices and between us we had 3 of them. I had the Lavraki Plaki, and it was delicious - beautifully prepared and presented. The fish was tasty and served with a white wine herbed broth, tomato and potatoes. My friend had her fish with the onions and both of us cleaned our plates. There was also a marinated beef souvlaki, a grilled shrimp and salmon dish, as well as a chicken breast choice. great place to experience Greek food.More

They are not posted. When we go, we buy a Living Social Coupon for $99 which is a 3 course meal plus a bottle of wine.
