This morning I rode the train to west village with family and friends. They told us do not eat breakfast. I was like why?? NYC is known for its bagels. I had the cinnamon raisin bagel with eggs and turkey sausage. The sandwich is yummy. It wasn't dry and the meat was everything.

Pretty decent bagel spot in the area, Bagels on the Square offers a good variety of spreads, which seem to be their main attraction. The lox is pretty average, but not many types to choose from. There's no seating, but prices are reasonable and the ordering process is pretty quick. They do offer breakfast specials at a discount in case... More

Every time I come from out of town and visit the city I stop at Bagels on the square. They have a large selection of items you can choose from. They are also very cheap compared to other bagel places. I usually pay around $5.00 for a bagel out the door. Very fast and friendly service as well! Will always... More

Staying around the block for our visit and found this place by waking by. Great bagel with cream cheese and lox. I wouldn't go from the other end of the island to come here but if you're in the area it's a great choice.

Always stop here when we are in the city. The bagels are huge. The other baked goods are very tasty too.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
