We had a great experience with 2 kids to grab dinner before School of Rock at the Winter Theater. That area is either chains (Applebees) or bars and we stumbled on this place last minute. They worked us in and when I was torn between the chicken special or the bolognese the waiter proactively checked with the back and offered... More

What a wonderful surprise to walk downstairs and dine in a stone basement with homemade pasta and authentic Italian dishes. Best yet, the prices were like my undergrads days in The Village when Italian Home Cooking was on Carmine and Bleeker. Simple menu and great quality with ease to make your seats too.

We went to this restaurant last night with friends and their daughter (girls ages 8-12) at their suggestion. They had been here a couple weeks ago just in search of a place before the theater. Service staff was friendly and personable. Service was a on the slow side but not painfully slow. But it was worth it! The spinach pasta... More

Great atmosphere (cosy) and food and service were simply stunning. All for a decent price. We are a family of 7 and were accommodated well. Wish we had found it earlier in the week.

A rainy night and having just checked into the adjacent Hotel Mayfair I was warmly greeted and promptly seated. The bread and wine before dinner hit the spot and then the prizza arrived and I couldn't stop eating it. Tasty, well cooked, favorable toppings of Italian sausage, onion and black olives made for an enjoyable meal. No room for dessert,... More

Stopped by Cielo after a long day of sight seeing/shopping. Great little bar....very relaxed, outgoing patrons. We met so many wonderful "New Yorkers"! Great stories were shared, and Paige makes a fabulous Basil Mojito!

We enjoyed great homemade mozzarella and marinara, as well as ravioli. Restaurant was not crowded, we were seated easily without reservations on a Wednesday night around 7:30.

My wife and daughter found this restaurant by browsing on Yelp. Although it was a little bit of a walk from our hotel, we were well rewarded with a cozy, small restaurant that was quiet and a great place to unwind. Beyond the great atmosphere, the food was the hero here - all simple pasta dishes that were super fresh.... More

Lucked into this place. We were searching for an italian place while wandering Broadway around Times Square and found two places listed on 49th Street. Decided to try Cielo because it was less expensive and more layed back. Wow! We loved it. The place is small and cozy with a great authentic feel. Our server, Jordan, helped with all of... More

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
