We opted for this restaurant because it was convenient to our hotel. Rather than ordering off of the main menu we ordered from the bar menu. Food was decent bar food - no complaints. Music was very, very loud - hard to hear people at...More

On a Tuesday night in December we had no problem getting served immediately at the bar. There was a very good range of both Irish and NY state craft beers on draught, served quickly. A selection of bar snacks was also very tasty. Staff were...More

We popped in for lunch, just choosing this place at random. It was very busy - the downstairs area was full so we were seated upstairs. The service was excellent - cold iced water as soon as we were seated & this was replenished regularly....More

Stopped in here and had a salad and drinks. The place is super cute and the staff very friendly. We did not have any beer or liquor so I can't comment on that. They were very accommodating to our group. Would definitely eat here again.

It all started back in 1969 at the opening of a restaurant and a bar called "Pig n Whistle". The original restaurant was located in the Old Townhouse of President Taft on West 48th street, in the heart of New York's Rockefeller Center, the friendly people and atmosphere quickly became the meeting place for New York's literary and banking elite. The new "Pig and Whistle" on West 36th Street, in the heart of the fashion district, has the look and the feel of the historic townhouse where it all began. From the oak bar and paneling on back bar, upstairs bar that is available for private parties and balcony overlooking 36th street, "Pig and Whistle" continues to follow the same detail and style as that gracious home in Rockefeller Center.
