Location and contact

It all started back in 1969 at the opening of a restaurant and a bar called "Pig n Whistle". The original restaurant was located in the Old Townhouse of President Taft on West 48th street, in the heart of New York's Rockefeller Center, the friendly people and atmosphere quickly became the meeting place for New York's literary and banking elite. The new "Pig and Whistle" on West 36th Street, in the heart of the fashion district, has the look and the feel of the historic townhouse where it all began. From the oak bar and paneling on back bar, upstairs bar that is available for private parties and balcony overlooking 36th street, "Pig and Whistle" continues to follow the same detail and style as

We visited this restaurant as it was near our hotel. Initially we were impressed with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. However service was slow, the food was average and our food order was consistently wrong. Staff weren’t particularly bothered about putting it right. Once...More

Called in her on the off chance, seated right away, served and ordered efficiently. Food was delicious, waitress courteous and helpful. Really enjoyed it - plus it's a dedicated Rugby bar which in NYC is a first! Would recommend.

We found the Pig N Whistle by chance while looking for a place for dinner. This is an Irish bar with an emphasis on Rugby. We had a short wait at the bar while waiting for a free table but we were shown to a...More
