We are native New Yorkers and we still buy take-out and go to Central Park to eat the food and people watch. It is one of our favorite activities to do in the middle of the day. The Premier Cafe might be wheel chair accessible, but I would not classify it as wheel chair friendly. The restaurant is on the first floor. There is a dining area filled with tables and chairs in the entire space. It is not easy to maneuver a wheel chair, particularly during the busy times: lunch, after work, late night. A suggestion to consider is to leave your fiance' outside while you enter the Premier and obtain a menu to bring to your fiance' and you decide upon what to order. This is not as bad as it sounds. There is an open area outside the Cafe. Another suggest you might consider is purchasing take-out from other delis in the area. There are a few of them within two blocks of Premier. Another recommendation, that we enjoy, is to purchase food for our Central Park lunch from the food carts at the entrances to the park, especially, the west entrance, Columbus Circle, and the east entrance near Fifth Avenue. At times,we enjoy the cart food at Central Park more than the deli food along Seventh Avenue. Anyway, do the Central Park lunch, people watch, and enjoy each other. Do not rush lunch. Take your time, relish the scene, and be in awe that an Eden is located in the middle of one of the busiest places on earth. The farther you travel into the park the more awesome the experience of serenity and tranquility, as well as the many activities that are happening in the park. The best to the both of you on your engagement.
