The Strand Bistro was not rated highly, but it was next to my hotel (Springfield Suites by Marriott), so I stopped in. It was just me so I sat at the bar. They had some interesting craft beers. I had the Butternut Squash soup which was outstanding and then the lemon crusted salmon as my entree. Everything was made to... More

Never expected to have an outstanding dinner (and breakfasts) prepared by an acclaimed executive chef, at a small hotel.....but did we ever! Marriott's Chef Kelvin Hernandez at their Pulse hotel in NYC is a passionate and personable young man, who believes food should be simple, but also should be a combination of flavors and textures. Or simply "a party in... More

The executive chef has done a masterful job delivering simple meals well executed and at a fair price for a comfortable no frills eatery. Kudos to him and his friendly efficient servers. It is nice to have a place to enjoy a good breakfast or have a quick bite in the evening. Look folks, it's not breakfast or dinner at... More

Everything we had was fresh and delicious. The only reason it did not get a a 5 star is because my friend was charged twice for a breakfast and was not given a refund directly. They did offer to refund after so many business days and given the managers card, but it should have been rectified that day. Still loved... More

We were in from Minnesota and we were told that the restaurant was really good at the Strand. So happy that we decided to not do the touristy Broadway restaurants. The white truffle risotto, crispy chicken and crispy arepas were to die for. Chef Kelvin personally served the truffles. It really is a gem. Gotta go back.

We had dinner one night and we both chose their signature dish, Crispy Chicken. It seems it was the Chef's winning dish during the Bobby Flay's Throwdown series on FoodNetwork. It was very good but very small portions. It came with a roasted baby carrot, and potatoes. Not enough to satisfy even a small appetite. I ordered mine along with... More

I tried the burrata appetizer and the salmon entree and both were very well prepared and tasty. The price point was a little high for the ambience there (it's not a fancy place), but the food is worth checking out.

Staying at the hotel and had a late night dinner with my 20 year old daughter. We had the arepas appetizer, and it was delicious so we ordered a 2nd one. We shared the mushroom pasta, it was perfect and delicious!

Located inside the Marriott Pulse Vacation Club, this restaurant is open B-L-D. We enjoyed both the breakfast and dinners we ate here. High quality food, very understated surroundings. Prices are about average for NYC. Walking distance from Times Square.

We were staying at the Marriott Pulse and for convenience before the theatre we decided to eat at this lovely bistro in the hotel. The food was presented nicely and was delicious. I had the Bronzino and my husband had the chicken. Both were very tasty , not overly salted and both had fresh vegetables! We also enjoyed the Chef's... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
