When in Town: this is a must stop for me. This trip I had the pleasure to have the wife with me so wanted to share with her a favorite Irish Pub of mine. So we hit the place for lunch and a drink. She...fell in love with the pub. Reminded her of our trip to Ireland.More

We love this pub! We try to go to different places when we go to the city but we often find ourselves coming back here. Just this one the Tir na Nog by MSG doesn't have the same feel as this one. The service is...great and the burgers are enormous and so good! Perfect location if going to a play or show at MSG! We just love the feel of the whole place!More

I really enjoyed spending a couple of hours at Tir na Nog. The service was friendly, and the corned beef and cabbage was perhaps the best I've ever had. Good beer list. Desert was excellent.

After a wonderful lunch, on the way out we asked what the bar's name meant and we were told by the host, "Land of the Youth." It's an Irish myth that tells the story of a young warrior who pursues and marries a fair maiden...and they live happily ever after for 300 years! I assume they lived that long because they ate the food served in this bar --- things such as Fish and Chips, Shepherd's Pie and Corned Beef. Located just across from the 31st street and 8th avenue entrance to Penn Station, Tir na Nog is the perfect place to meet friends who are arriving from out-of-town. From the old wooden doors to the beautiful, long mirrored bar, this is one cool spot (see photo). The casual food served here is very good. You can go all the way from Caesar Salad to Bangers and Mash. We stayed middle of the road with Wild Mushroom Flatbread and Chicken Milanese. I want to come back and try the Fish and Chips and Corned Beef Sandwich. Our server, Niamh, quickly realized that we needed time to talk and catch up. So, she got our drinks and then gave us some space. And yet, she was nearby when we were ready to order. All-in-all, an wonderful experience. I look forward to coming back.More

We were a group of 10 (4 adults and 6 teens/kids) and we walked in to the restaurant because we were staying at the Hyatt Place across the street. It was about 7pm on a Friday and they were able to seat us right away...in a room basically all to ourselves! The ambiance was very pretty with a gorgeous fireplace (a little warm for me, but that's the only complaint). The food was amazing! I had the fish and chips which was fantastic. Our group loved that the kids menu was only $10 and served children 14 and younger. The large portions were perfect for our group and kept the price down. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating!More

Gorgeous!!! Definitely the nicest restaurant we visited during our stay in New York. We booked a table in advance as a precaution because it was Christmas Day but there was no need. The pub was beautiful, had a real irish feel to it and most...of the staff seemed to be Irish which was a nice touch as a fellow Irish person on her travels ... this place needs to be on everybodies list for places to try. The food is well priced and they have good variety of drinks.More
