If you are one of these poor people like my other half who has a food allergy then stay clear of this pub! We called in advance to ensure they catered for him and was advised he would be able to have a full English...Roast Dinner. Which made us very happy, on arrival (after walking an hour to get there) the lady showed us our table (she was extremely polite) I mentioned I had called in advance to check on the food was good he could eat. She got our waiter who was so rude….saying we could get a roast but no gravy! I asked if I would be able to advise the chef how he could make a gluten-free gravy in 5-10 minutes and the answer to this was “what is the point of a restaurant if you’re telling the cook how to make the food” After this we simply walked out as they clearly did not want to serve us!More

Aside from he Welsh rarebit, we've found the food to be rather bland versions fo the British originals. I'm sure there are better places to get British food in NYC. The beer is fine, though,

I am English so always looking for English food and this place did not disappoint. The bangers and mash with onion gravy was really good, proper sausages! Also the scotch egg was good too, not so much the tatare sauce that accompanied it! But overall...the look and taste was good. The desserts were great too!More

While in New York we got desperate for something British!! Found this lovely place and it didn’t disappoint As you go in, the bar is at the front & dining all at the back of premises. Had lots of British classics. Fish & chips were...as good as being in uk. My husband had shepherds pie and he loved it. Quite pricey but worth it if in need of a taste from home!More

First time at Jones Wood Foundry, after passing through the bar area with several TV screens and many beers on tap we proceeded into one of the several dining areas. The tables are all separated by clear plexiglass shields that provide safety without making you...feel claustrophobic. We had the fish and chips which was prepared perfectly and the Shepard pie, both were delicious. Our sever Viri was attentive, friendly and made excellent recommendations for dinner and beers. I am not a big beer fan but the Weihenstephaner wheat beer was delicious. We finished up with the banshee pie which was extraordinary. We will be back.More

We came here after reading the great reviews on trip advisor and we’re not disappointed. We were greeted by a very friendly Irish lady who made us all feel very welcome. The food was delicious. Well done guys keep up the good work.

A typical British food menu. Some good beers on tap including Guiness. The food was great. Far better than I've enjoyed in the UK. A small pub from the street. Better eating space in the back or out front on the covered street area.

High Points: new outdoor super warm heaters, yummy comfort foods Low Points: uneven tables outside, hard-to-understand servers, and there's something just SAD about walking into an establishment that prides itself on being a spot of Britain when you're greeted by non-British waitstaff upon entering who...aren't happy, aren't pleasant, and whose English is hard to understand. Missing is some GENUINE, AUTHENTIC, WARM, and KIND hospitality upon greeting entering instead of barking "have a reservation" The rest is sad because, after placing an order, different runners brought our food outside and we had a tough time even reordering drinks without having to run back inside and find someone. Unique Points: Aspall's on Tap (the only place for this cider in all NYC!) F&B Big Threes: Food: excellent Service: iffy; we want to love ALL BIG THREES about this place but nobody working here on this visit would we hire ourselves; pity Max has departed the bar Ambience: depends where you are and what crowd surrounds you; outside has uneven tables, hard-to-reach servers, beggars & neighborhood crazies; inside has multiple areas that offer different atmospheres- we like the inside/outside area just after the main-barMore

Poor service, kind of expensive and mediocre food. Many better places in the local area that offer better food/drink options

Love this place! I came here for brunch on Halloween and ate in the lovely backyard. They had very funny skeleton decorations. I had the omelet with bubble and squeak and a Bloody Mary. Great menu, great dining spaces and very friendly staff.

Went to this charming neighborhood restaurant for dinner. They are taking COVID seriously and have several protocols in place to ensure guest safety. Made a reservation and also called ahead to pre-order our food, which is an amazing concept during the pandemic! We sat in...the ‘hidden garden’ and although it was very chilly out, there was an awning over the area and it felt like there were heaters on, so the atmosphere was very cozy! Food was good (pricey but not astronomical), but the Sticky Toffee Pudding was to die for! Service was super friendly, and I would definitely go back. I was lucky enough to get a parking space right across the street from the restaurant, but there’s also a pay parking garage on the block in a pinch.More

We have waited for something like this for ages to open in NYC and this is a welcome start. The neighborhood is unexpected; the waitstaff unmatched to the cuisine, and the owners offsite during weekends, but we loved our visit to this new place for...all things English. High Point: Aspall's Cider ***ON TAP*** and understand this is a HUGE DEAL for the usa.... really a high point here., and the lamb shepherd's pie, the Yorkshire Pudding with Stilton Sauce, great chips, and wonderful sides... Unique Point: bits and pieces of the UK like signs from double decker busses and hooks and lights Low Points: the bannoffee had just tons of whipped cream to disguise 3 bananas in the tart with no caramel and no fruit... not traditional at all. Now, if only there were British accents with every order and server, this would be a huge little part of Britain and a new Tea And Sympathy for the UESide!More

Before our christmas holiday to NYC we had searched for a restaurant which would give us a turkey dinner on Christmas, failing this we found this restaurant who would give us this on boxing day instead. My brother was unable to book the meal through...normal means as it required an american phone number and we are from Scotland and China so he corresponded with the restaurant on Facebook, who told him we were booked in for Christmas dinner at 49 dollars per person. We arrived early and waited for our booking spending a decent amount on money on drinks for the four of us and then were seated, only to be told they didnt have our reservation as we didnt reserve through their website and therefore they didnt have any turkey dinners they could give us. This was very disappointing as we had spent a long time searching for somewhere to give us this. We settled with them that our meal would be discounted due to the let down, but when our main courses arrived my step-mother had to send hers back to be microwaved as it was stone cold. The food was nice enough, the staff were accommodating in that they discounted the meal, but it doesnt shake the disappointment after a long anticipated meal. I wouldnt come here again.More

Went here with our son on a Sunday evening. We got here early and there was no crowd. The place filled up after we were there. Service was very good as was the knowledge of the beers and menu by the wait staff. I had...the venison stew, which was really not a stew, but it was very good. My wife enjoyed the lamb sheperd pie as did my son with his roast beef. Beers were very good as were all the desserts we ate.More
