MICHELIN Guide's Point of View
Don Antonio’s knows its way around a pie. The namesake outpost, located in Naples, has been running strong since 1901. If that isn’t enough street cred...
Worst restaurant. After driving for 2 hrs my mother had to use the bathroom. He actually told me the only way to use the bathroom was if I bought a soda for $4!!!!!!!how disgusting and embarrassing for this restaurant.
Excellent service, warm welcome in this pizzeria. We ordered the carciofo alla mediterranea also macellaio (the butcher) and truffle burrata pizzas. Really pleased with the food. Pizzas were pipping hot with thin crispy edges and generously garnished over a tender center crust. A feast for...the tastebuds and the eyes! A nice bottle of wine completed the treat. We will be back for sure next time we come to NY.More
I'm not a pizza fan typically, but cleaned my plate in this restaurant! I suggest a reservation, being in the theater district and a good pizza place, its popular. Nice front of house greeting and good service from waiter. Forget fast food delivery pizza, or...even thin crust Italian...this is Don Antonio pizza, and the ingredients and the balance of ingredients is just right, and tastes fresh and homemade in the best way.More
I got a regular margherita pizza which was good. The dough was very soft and the flavor of the sauce was good too. My wife got a "fried pizza" and it was very unique. It tasted like the pizza had been smoked and almost had...a meat like flavoring. Nice little place.More
Wow this place was a GREAT FIND! We walked in and it was super busy with a great atmosphere but we got seated straight away. Tables were close together but we didn’t mind this at all. They have such a great selection of pizzas and...it was honestly the best pizza I’ve ever had. We loved it! Would deffo recommend this little gem.More
Having been told we had to try Neapolitan Pizza in NY we decided to try this place. I had the one called "The butcher" and it was really good - I actually was not really impressed with the toppings but the pizza dough itself was...really good.
My wife had the deepfried pizza "Calzone Fritto" which was fantastic. We had white and red wine with our pizzas and both were really good. The service was really good and friendly.More
The pizza here is absolutely delicious. The service and wait staff just go through the motions and do not take pride in making the patrons feel welcome; made you feel like they don't care if you're here or not spending your money. There are tons...of other pizza places to go to, so Management could think about having a meeting and telling their staff to smile and be friendly and helpful. Having said that and if you don't mind how you're treated, the pizza is excellent. Next time I'm in NYC, I'll try another place, though.More
We were a walk in on a Monday night around 19.45. The restaurant was packed and the atmosphere good. We were seated immediately. So far so good. The guy asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. When I asked if we could please have...filtered (I’m English so polite is in my DNA) he just looked at me and rudely said - do you mean tap? When I then asked for an old fashioned he looked at me like something on the bottom of his shoe. Honestly… his tone was so unpleasant. Anyway the service from there was brusque. No smiles, didn’t feel at all welcome. The pizza was good, it is indeed authentic great crust and ingredients. Nice glass of primitivo. Such a shame that the good food was ruined. Unfortunately I would not return.More
We first wrote a review for this place about 8 or 9 years ago on an NYC visit and this has been the one restaurant we make sure we come back to every time we are in NYC. We ate there for lunch at the...bar on our first day arriving and came back for an earlier lunch on a Saturday prior to seeing a matinee nearby. Pizzas are absolutely outstanding whether you go with a red sauce or a white sauce. I always ask for the pizza to be left in the oven a little bit longer than normal because I prefer a cracked blackened top and crispy bottom so I don't have to eat it with a knife and fork but even served at their normal crispiness level they are great. Very friendly staff and bartenders.More
Fantastic food and great service. The pizza is simply outstanding. Real Neapolitan flavor. We had a great time with our kids (11 and 5). Service is courteous and quick.
Did not live up to expectations. Hyped on Diners and Drive-Ins plus the boasts that they are the “original” Neapolitan and the owner is head of the Neapolitan pizza association. We just didn’t find the pizza that great. We understand that Neapolitan means to expect...a few charred bubbles, but even though the crust was undercooked and chewy it had an overwhelming burnt taste.More
We got a takeaway from here, getting the Montanara and another pizza. The Montanara was a stand-out good pizza, and definitely worth going out of your way for in a city filled with pizza places.
My daughter and I came here for dinner before a show as it is located conveniently in the theatre district. We arrived around 5:30 without reservations, were seated promptly and the restaurant quickly filled up after we arrived. We ordered drinks and decided to share...a Margherita pizza and the Pere & Noci salad (spring mix, fresh pears, walnuts, lemon-olive oil dressing). The food came out in plenty of time and there was plenty to share. Everything about our meal was fresh and delicious! I wish I remembered the name of our waiter because he was outstanding. We would definitely come back here again.More
