MICHELIN Guide's Point of View

Don Antonio’s knows its way around a pie. The namesake outpost, located in Naples, has been running strong since 1901. If that isn’t enough street cred...

Just ok pizza. Its paper thin crust but sauce has a good flavor. Pizzas are smaller, so not uncommon to order 2 pizzas for 2 adults. I liked the pizza, didn't love it.

Pretty decent pizza in Midtown NYC. We didn't have to wait for a table for 2 at prime-time on a weeknight. The crust was a little too thick and a bit doughy, but overall I would recommend it to anyone who wants a slice in...a little more of an upscale atmosphere than the corner take out shop.More

Delicious pizza on 50th Street! We finally got a chance to try Don Antonio on our last visit to NYC. It was very good.

Moved to the city recently and I am a pizza addict so I was looking for my next new place to go out for dinner/order in. The pizza was good, it was right up my alley in regards to how I like my pizza. I...would have loved to make this place a regular for myself but the staff was rude. I felt like I was being rushed to order and rushed to finish. They were constantly passing by to take my plate and get me out. It's not like I had a cheap bill, we racked up about $90 between 2 people because we were eager to sample a variety of food (couldn't finish everything). This is a place I could have seen myself being a regular at for nights out and take out/delivery but not sure if I will return due to the service. Maybe it was just an off day, but who knows.More

Last year we visited and experienced the best gluten free pizza. Well, our return visit was even better - the Burrata Salad was perfection and the pizza was even better. I love this place....

We have been going to Don Antonio since they opened. We try to sit at the bar as it is tighter and noisier in the back. The pizzas are the best, truly just like Italy and I go quite a bit for business. When I...want authentic pizza this is my spot. Yesterday I had the sausage with broccoli rabe and smoked mozz. Exact pizza I had 2 weeks ago in Florence. the quality was the same. Highly recommend.More

Went to restaurant on our first night in New York after rave reviews by TripAdvisor users. Pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were seated without reservation on a busy Sat night at restaurant.Equally happy to be able to leave as quickly as possible by the...time we finished.Service was quick and friendly. Seating arrangements were elbow-to-elbow with other patrons .I had hoped the food will make up for the less than comfortable noisy and crowed area.Pizza were served promptly. As I tried to savor the pizza,I could barely smell or taste the pizza.I could only smell the strong perfume coming from the patron right next to me.So I can only comment on the look and texture of my food.Portion is generous for a personal pizza.Pizza is soggy with sauce. Overall not a great impression of pizza from New York if this restaurant is rated 4.5 star.More

While the food was okay (we shared a pizza and some antipasti) the service is very pushy and fast-paced. They kept asking if we’re finished even though we still had our plated filled with food and we were just talking. I’d get their behavior if...we had gone to this place during rush hour, but we were here at a pretty quiet time and yet staff seemed way too stressed. They took my plate while my friend was still eating and we couldn’t even finish our starters before they tried to cram the pizza onto our tiny table. While the atmosphere in general seems veru cozy, the staff just ruins that.More

Don Antonio has really amazing GF pizza! If I didn’t know it was GF I would have thought I got the wrong thing (see photo!). My husband had the regular pizza, and he said it was really good, too. We also had the arugula Fresca...salad, which had fresh shredded mozzarella and vinaigrette dressing. Everything was so good!More
