Having previously read about this dive bar , I just had to go, it was just as I imagined loud, raucous, smoke stained roof, bar area v/busy,with free (rotten) hotdogs per drink. Great prices, friendly staff. Toilets, only visit if you really have to. This is a pure dive bar with a big capital "D" me, I enjoyed it....my other... More

Stopped by Rudy's on a Friday night while visiting NYC, celebrating my 30th with my husband. I read several places that this was a great Dive, and that's exactly what it is. It was packed with people of all ages and all backgrounds. The beer is cold and cheap ($4), and the free hotdogs are actually really good. Service was... More

Googled 'best cheap beer New York' and this was top of the list. It was just as described - cheap beer (e.g. $4 pint Bud Light) and free hot dog to boot! It's a small place without much seating, but it's busy-ness adds to the atmosphere. You may bag a seat at the bar if you wait long enough.

You are either going to love this place or hate. It's a real dive bar, not one of those fake dive bars that cage $8 for a beer, so hipsters beware. The place is literally taped together. Seats and sofas range from very comfortable to I'd rather stand. Drinks are cheap. A bottle of bud will set you back three... More

There is something slightly charming about this place when you walk in. But when you look a little closer it's pretty poor. The sofas are held together with tape. The bathroom door to the men's was a poorly fitted piece of wood. Luckily it's dark in the bar so you can't see how dirty it really is.

Good locals bar not far from Times Square. Good price drinks for NYC and you get a free hotdog with every drink ( you have to ask) Recommend a visit.

Fantastic bar! We all loved it. Some great people in there that have lived in the neighbourhood for Ages- sociable and welcoming. The drink prices are really good and the music (chosen by everyone at the duke box) was great! We didn't get the hot dogs as we had just had dinner but we will next time. Fantastic bar in... More

Maybe it's a licensing issue, maybe it's just the way things are in the USA. We walked here in the rain, thinking it would be fun, a thing to do in NYC + most of the other reviews were positive so we braved a call, rainy fall morning to stop in here for a drink. "You can't come in here!"... More

If you're a tourist to NY like me but don't want to feel like one and pay like one, head to Rudy's. It was recommended by a local which is always a good sign and even though the location is pretty much tourist city it's got great priced drinks, easy going service, juke box music and free hot dogs if... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
