We had lunch with a lot of plates to taste: all were very good, but special mention to the lamb, chicken tikka masala and chicken samosas...staff were very polite but their English wasn't so good, so be prepared in case you need recommendations...

This place is a real gem! The Peshwari Naan was so good , and the Lentil soup is a must! The spice level was perfect and dishes are generous. The service was great, and prices are reasonable...

Small place which I found through Yelp and was able to make a reservation on Open Table. Pretty good food as well. We had chana masala and lamb biryani and a chaat. All dishes were tasty and service was good. We got medium spicy and were feeling the burn, so beware.

The website for this place makes it look more high end than it is but, it is cosy and the owner very friendly and charismatic. The meat starters were good and the kulfi was excellent but unfortunately the mains were a let down. Not bad but not the best.

We went there for the first time and we were completely awed by the hospitality and the food! Simply awesome food and the owner himself ensured robust service on each table! His passion was seen in the way he managed this place! A go-to place for sure.

Small restaurant but nice atmosphere. The service was outstanding - a server for every three tables or so. Very quick and courteous service. Best of all the food was out of this world - and we love and try Indian food all over the world. The owner was funny and a real class act. Very highly recommend if you are... More

We made reservations and we're seated promptly. This is small place which serves wine and beer. Appetizers were good. Main course were big. All main course comes with rice. Not too many choice for desert. Staff was attentive and friendly. Service was great.

A tiny interior but excellent service and savory dishes make this a favorite for locals in the neighborhood as well as tourists. Don't be surprised by reserve signs on the table. Try the chili cheese naan - you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I arrived on a Saturday night in February about 15 minutes before the restaurant closed. In our home town, the waiter would have blithely told us the restaurant was already closed and sent us on our way. Instead, we were promptly seated, even though there was only one other patron in the restaurant and the wait staff... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
