A must stop every time we visit Chinatown. We've had melon cakes (aka wife cakes) from everywhere and these are hands down the best there is. We used to be able to buy them from an Asian grocery out in NJ who bought them from...here and sold them in NJ on the weekends but they have since closed down. With everything more difficult these days with Covid we rarely get in to NYC so today was a special trip and we HAD to come here! The staff were so happy to help us and we incredibly nice and grateful for customers. If we could have bought more we would have. Stop in immediately and give them a try!More

A favorite pastime of mine in Chinatown is to find delicious almond cookies — and right around the corner from our hotel was the Golden Fung Wong Bakery. It was full of yummy cakes, cookies, breads and custards, but I couldn’t get past the almond...cookies. Absolutely delicious!More

This bakery has been around for many years and the sweets are wonderful with great prices and a large assortment of fattening goodies. I suggest you to get one of each because it is hard to choose and they are all excellent if you are...used to Chinese foods of this sort. I love anything filled with sweet black bean paste.More

We enjoyed sesame balls and roast port buns. The food is fresh and service fast. It was also inexpensive. By sharing your experiences, you're helping travelers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you!

I stopped in while walking though Chinatown and bought 2 big almond cookies to-go ($1 each). I ended up splitting them between 4 people the next day and everyone loved them. I'll definitely be back for more almond cookies and to try their other items....Cash only. Very little seating.More

I have been going to this bakery for about 30 years (back when it was located across from transfiguration church) and nothing has come close to the quality and taste of this simple but authentic Chinese bakery. The items are still exactly the same as...they have always tasted, and nothing has been added or changed or updated. I moved away from NYC over 15 years ago and this place is a standard stop on my visits. I recommend the black bean hopia cakes - generally all of the hopia cakes are excellent but the black bean is my favourite. I buy 20 packs at a time and freeze them! You can get a coffee and pastry there for breakfast as well - they have a table or two to briefly munch. Off the tourist track, and well worth it if you crave old fashioned homestyle Chinese pastries.More

Great prices and lots of variety of Asian bakery items. You can also get Asian coffee or tea which is what we stopped in for. Off the beaten path and worth the stop.

This bakery is located at the intersection of Mott Street and Pell Street in Chinatown. Since they're not on a major street their prices are about 20% cheaper than bakeries located on main streets like Canal Street. They have a small seating area on the...left when you walk in. Mostly locals, not many tourists. Good food, great prices. I come here often.More
