A great discovery and break from family shipping trip. Very nice to chill and enjoy good healthy and tasty food. The chimichurri sauce made the meal.

We read about Jivamuktea Cafe in an article on NY spiritual restaurants. This casual cafe, located within a yoga school, is open to anyone (not just the students) and has an array of salads, sandwiches, and brunch items, all vegan in accordance with the Hindu concept of Ahimsa. My hubby chose the "bacon and sandwich," which was actually tempeh bacon... More

I love going here not just for the great vegan food but also for the whole experience of Jivamukti. It feels like a NYC yoga institution and while here you can browse the gift shop and people watch the barefoot yogis drinking their kombucha. You will leave smelling like incense. The salads are great as are the baked goods. Stay... More

Finally got to sit down, eat and chill at the cafe. Staff, food and service were great! Loved my dahl and yogi's choice. I will be back to try the rest of the offerings. Love Jivamuktea!

Visiting New York from Australia and went looking for some vegan fare. The BLT is amazing! I came back for it the next day, and their juices and brownies are also fantastic. They're not so good with making lattes, but I find much of New York has that problem. The amazing food and lovely staff more than make up for... More

Healthy food, smoothies and good vibes at this hidden second floor gem of a cafe in Union Sq. You don't need to be a vegetarian to love it, just have an open mind. Order that wheatgrass shot. Ambience is zen and fun and informal. For first time visitors, you will enter what looks like an office building thinking you must... More

I was part of a large group of about 18 that had reservations for lunch. It took at bit of time for the friendly staff to manage all our orders, but the food was delicious. I had a tempeh BLT that was really was flavorful and came with a side salad with a delicious house dressing. It was a little... More

After a nice long "Bhakti Brunch" yoga class with Ximena I stopped by the cafe. It is a little pricey, but what do you expect for quality vegan food in NYC? I had the diablo burritto and the red raw soup. I enjoyed both and wish I had a cafe like this in OH. They had a ton of other... More
