What a delightful experience: a wide variety of teas sold by a very knowledgeable staff, a cozy place to relax and enjoy a pot of tea, and sweet treats to boot!. My friend and I met here at the end of a long day and it felt like home. It's tiny but very cozy. Highly recommended. Will return the next... More

Physically underground and literally understated – with just a couple of tables for tea drinkers, Physical GraffiTea initially seemed like the tearoom version of a dive bar. I'm glad i went in. What I found was an extraordinarily knowledgeable staff and a tea that helped to lessen my anxiety. This place is pretty awesome.

On a recent trip to New York we stumbled upon this quaint and unique tea shop. The selections are expanse and the owner is personable, providing an intimate experience. Not only will she give you a thorough history of all her tea combinations (the histories of the tea combinations are fascinating!), but you'll also get a wonderful experience of chatting... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
