I visited midweek late afternoon, restaurant was quite but the atmosphere was very relaxing with a mixture of Italian and New York feel about it. The pasta was excellent and freshly made. I really enjoyed a rare late afternoon dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit👍.

We've been to this restaurant a number of times and the food, drinks, and service has been consistently fabulous! We recommend their pastas, specials, and their pizzas especially the truffle pizza. You'll be very happy you chose to dine here.

Fresh is a key word at Machiavelli's... Pasta is homemade, very delightful. The restaurant seemed a little crowded, chaotic The service was alright though.

Want to ensure my review is accurate of our experience so here goes..... Shown to a table quickly. Order taken after a while, waitress apologised for the delay. Started to take more notice of the staff....not good. Mayhem actually. Bringing food out one plate at a time, clearing tables, one plate at a time....all just didn't seem to flow really.... More

Would not recommend this place. The food was basic, piano player is loud and they have no corkage policy. So don't bring your own bottle because you will just be humiliated.

A small upper weat side restaurant of pleasing proportions, comfortable furnishings, and wonderful Uccello battle scenery is now serving spectacularly delicious Italian food. It's like a trattoria discovery in Bologna or Verona--a little off the beaten gourmet track, not fussily formal, but warm, welcoming and delicious.

I was visiting my parents and went to this place for dinner. I had been looking forward to trying it but when we got there we found that the restaurant has put tables blocking the accessible doorway and my Mom is in a wheelchair. Also the outdoor seating area is also not accessible. They had planters blocking off the sidewalk... More

We were in NYC and found this place and my wife said it looked nice so we tried it. I like looking at menus because I'm a terrible eater but she goes by look and feel so in we went. It was almost 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon and it still had a nice crowd which was a good sign.... More

Great pizza and sangria! Service was also good and carrying. Pizza bit pricy for the value, but all in all great.

Came here to meet some friends from Italy, and off course this is one of the only places in Manhattan where I know for sure the food is well done.. Gianpietro the chef, is very peculiar and always comes to the table to make sure you order the right items. Also to explain what he has on the stove. We... More

ARTISANAL PASTA MADE THE TRADITIONAL WAY, ALL BY HAND!!! TASTE THE DIFFERENCE! The decor is influenced by the Renaissance, stunning murals representing Paolo Uccello's Battle of San Romano envelops the room. It might have the feel and look of a high-end restaurant, but only has the pretension of offering you a home away from home, with the comfort and wonders of those old European cafes. Trattoria Machiavelli offers art, live classical or jazz music and above all else an art form that is now hard to find even in Italy! Artisanal pastas made completely by hand by Andrea, an Italian sfoglino, using a mattarello! Machiavelli is a restaurant, a cafe, a bar, and so much more, an experience. Come for tea, one of our special cocktails, a glass of wine, a small dish, or a wonderful dinner, a pasta or something wonderful from the brick oven. Enjoy the talented music students from the nearby famous music colleges. This is a family run restaurant and we pride ourselves in giving you a personalized experience.
