My partner and I stayed nearby during a recent visit to NY and visited Empire Cake twice. Both times we had their homemade twinkles. They are AMAZING. Both times my partner go the same thing: the peanut butter twinkie, filled with peanut butter, dipped in chocolate, and sprinkled with peanut butter cup crumbs. It's fantastic. The second time I had... More

I stumbled across Empire Cake on my way to the Whitney Museum. This upscale bakery offers very good cakes, cookies and coffee. It's a bit on the pricey side, but worth it. Their chocolate cake is amazing.

I've started coming here again since getting an apartment in Hells Kitchen and this is still my 100% favourite place to meet for coffee and cakes. The cakes are so delicious and the atmosphere is cosy enough to enjoy a quick break from the crazy city. Time has not eroded the charm and pure decadence of this amazing outlet. Love... More

I am a crazy chocolate cake lover, it is a must for my birthday. Every year my husband does his research and finds me the best chocolate cake he can find. This year he decided to visit Empire Cake. He got me the Salted Caramel. OMG it was to die for!!! It is made with the best chocolate frosting (high... More

We were looking for dessert late and you never find a quality bakery open this late so we jumped on this place and it was delicious and fresh even though we arrived at 9 p.m. Lots of choices.

Walked by while hungry and made a great impulse decision. Everything looked great and I opted for a lemon bar. Absolutely the densest, most lemony bar I've ever had. My colleagues had cupcakes or scones which were also (allegedly) excellent.

Local bakery that specializes in mostly cookies & individual little cake items. Their take on the old-fashioned snowball (cocoanut, marshmallow icing, chocolate cake & creme) is pretty good, as you never see these things fresh. The larger (preferred) cookies are good for dunking at home, but are in limited supply & almost always sell out. Only limited stool seating on... More

Have visited this place twice and I love the quality of their products. Their cakes are beautifully presented and they are just what you need when having an afternoon coffee break. If I lived closer I'd be here regularly. For now, I'll content myself with their beautiful photographs on Instagram and on here.
