We were here early morning on a Saturday and had no line. Guy behind the counter made it clear he wasn't a fan of us, our order, his job, or maybe a combo of all of the above. This was by far the best bagel...More

If you're in new york you must come here to try the bagel. Crisp outside and squishy inside. Only one problem is here that it gets crowded

I am so happy to say I've finally tried a REAL NY BAGEL. Thank you Ess-a-Bagel, I still have tears welling in the corner of my eyes because your bagels are so darn GOOD. WAIT: Right off the bat, there's a loooong line for specialty...More

We went on a Saturday, figuring there would be no office workers on line, but the place was still packed to the rafters. At lunch time that meant a wait of over an hour. But once we got to the front of the line things...More

Sandwich was delicious! Had a cream chesse, rosbife with lettuce and tomato. The line was too long and it took a while. It was rush hour on a busy day. Try to go when the lines are smaller.

This is a great place but it is extremely busy and slow and the prices do not seem to be fair (~$5 for a bagel with cream cheese). There are several better deals in NYC.

The lines are long, but the bagels are delicious. If you're just looking for a bagel and coffee, you can skip the main food line and head to the bagel-only counter. Quick service, easy breakfast.

Over an hour wait! Very little seating. Unable to sit together with a family of 5. Was yelled at by the worker behind the counter because I was unable to hear her call us amid the ridiculous noise level in the room. The food put...More

We had received an ess a bagel gift package through Goldbelly last year and loved everything so much, I stopped there to bring bagel sandwiches back to our hotel—- so good, but be prepared for a long line. Definitely better fresh as the package I...More

Fantastic bagel option in midtown east. The bagels are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, perfectly toasted, and huge. My traditional lox and cream cheese on an onion bagel was just what I wanted while visiting NYC. It tasted just like the...More

They have pumpernickel raisin bagels! Not sure about plain pumpernickel.
