Went here for Christmas Eve dinner, had pate, the gruyere fondue, the chocolate sampler dessert. The food was terrific - the gouda/stout fondue is just as good as the gruyere. Order fruit to dip as well as the bread. Had a perfect martini as well....More

I've been going there for years. I understand that it just changed owners, though. Things are ridiculous. I usually ordered the Dover sole. But, now, $63? I ended up ordering something economical. An omlette. $24. I won't be surprised if they go out of business.

Last week--perhaps two weeks ago--I was sent an email from Artisanal Bistro explaining that patrons could order cheese, cheesecakes, and macaroni and cheese for the holidays from their bistro. My husband called ahead and attempted to make a "reservation" to pick up one cheesecake and...More

Having dined at Artisinal for years, my family and I were terribly disappointed by tonight's meal. Where to start? Wine margins currently seem to be in the 5x retail range. Pommes frites were soggy, leaden and flavorless. Wild Mushrooms were mostly stems, poorly seasoned and...More

We have been going to Artisinal for several years, but our recent visit, treating a visiting friend to dinner, was the best so far, although the prices seem to have gone up sharply. Maybe, we just made better choices, but we sincerely loved each dish....More

I've been here many times but something must have happened because this time I was so disappointed. Very mediocre food and very very mediocre service. It's a great shame.

We love coming to this charming brasserie in NYC. Try the cheese fondue, with the beef tips. Delicious! Fantastic wine list, great mixed drinks, they make and sell their own cheeses here. I feel like I'm in France when dining in this restaurant. It's quite...More

I keep trying Artisinal given some of the stellar reviews. I just have not had a great experience. This time we went during restaurant week. The Mac and cheese was quite mediocre. However, the fondue was excellent and I wish I had ordered that as...More

We have dined here 3-4 times over the years and have always found it to be very good. The fondue is great to share with all the accoutrements and the steak au poivre is always cooked to perfection. The mussels are also good. We like...More

Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon - long, happy lunch. Pretend you're in France for an hour or two. Neighborhood is quiet on Sunday, no wait for a table. Everything was delicious. Bloody Mary was perfect. Spring Quiche was the best I ever had....More
