They have great lunch specials. Try the sweet potato fries! However, the food does take a long time to come out. I've been here a couple times and the food always takes approximately 30 minutes to cook. Beware of this if you are on your lunch hour. They do takeout and you should call ahead to order to avoid the... More

Really enjoyed our brunch here sitting outside on the street. Service was good, and so was the food. Choices during brunch mainly different egg dishes, but also pancakes and fruits are on the menu.

Over the past year, I have eaten at Penny Farthing probably about 30 times. They have roughly 12 lunch specials, and I have had all of them. Each time the food has been excellent. Not once have I or has anyone I was with said that any of the meals wasn't very good. Burgers, pasta with shrimp, salmon, chicken, Cobb... More

Food was good especially the ahi tuna salad. Drinks are good. Didn't get 5 stars cuz service was slow. Outdoor seating is great but you have to order dinner. The doors open so on a nice day seating inside still feels great.

I just went to brunch with my wife . If you look around the restaurant you will find people eating burgers and omelette are very popular but if you are a vegetarian don't bother going to this restaurant ! The veggie burger is so bad that the management should consider taking it off the menu ! Then the veggie wrap... More

Came here on a Saturday for a going away party around 10 pm and it was packed.. even for the city it was abnormally packed but it definitely wasn't anything special imo.. drinks were overpriced but the bar tenders were really good.. very on point and observant to people who needed drinks. If you can get here when it's empty... More

Stopped by with some girlfriends while we waited for our table at a nearby restaurant. Bartender poured us some HUGE glasses of wine so we were happy. Around 9pm the scene was good for people watching. Definitely some attractive mid-twenties to thirties crowd. Later on when we came back it was young...so I recommend going early.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
