I have been to the cafe at this Whole Foods, literally, hundreds of times. The mornings are blissful; good coffee, good whole wheat croissants, vegan blueberry muffins. You can sit, read and drink coffee, undisturbed, for hours. Today, I got my lunch from their amazing buffet. Great selection of roasted vegetables, salads, several tofu dishes; I dream about this buffet... More

It's only day 2 and we have been to whole foods at union square twice already, firstly to get some groceries and have lunch, 2nd day to grab some dinner food after some late night shopping at Nordstrom rack. The take out containers average $10 full and are good value, the groceries downstairs are also great with a wide variety... More

Love this place, has organic options, pre chopped vegetables handy for those travelling who have limited cooking space in their apartment. Also like the food bar which has soups, hot proteins, salads and tapas etc that you can load up into a container and take home or eat upstairs in a spacious eating area. Prepacked salads and sandwiches too with... More

Can't help think about their nickname for overpriced items... whole paycheck. Their groceries are higher priced than neighborhood stores in 10 block radius, but they are rightfully so because of their organic labeling. Sometimes I can't help knowing the higher prices subsidize the beautiful displays and well staffed location.

I visited Whole Foods as I was just passing and fancied a look inside, the store is huge and has everything you can imagine inside. Cakes, sweet treats and every kind of convenience food.

This place is worth a visit if you are into healthy eating. If offers a fantastic range of preprepared hot and cold foods which you pay for depending on the weight of your box. I wish we had similar choices in the North East

We ran in to get a quick breakfast and some coffee. We got some pre-made breakfast sandwiches in the grocery area and then went up to get coffee in the shop upstairs. The coffee was pretty good and the view of Union Square was wonderful, but the sandwiches were pretty lousy. My turkey sausage had absolutely no flavor. What's the... More

A wide selection of prepared foods to make a customized meal. Very busy but well organized checkout lanes; I still don't have the hang of it even though the color coding is supposed to make it simple. Seating is upstairs and dining area was clean.

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
