My wife and I stayed across the street and saw this place hopping every night. We stopped buy to check it out and we were surprised! The place is Ockoberfest every day! A nice bar, Large sized table area and an outside area. A large menu looked awesome, we were there just for beers and ended up getting a Pretzel.... More

With my husband being German, he is drawn to any place called a Bierhaus. While I don't drink beer, he was very pleased with their beer selection and I was very pleased with my pretzel! It is located up a flight of stairs and I am not sure if there is another way in. Bathrooms were clean.

Had a great time, great spot, food was really good, great beer of course. A bit crowded and a surprisingly young crowd, but a great experience

We tried to get a seat at this place four times in a week and it is always packed. We were lucky to get a spot on our last day in NYC and man it was worth the wait. Great beer from all over Germany and excellent food. I had the cucumber salad and pork Schnitzel. Great atmosphere and grips... More

Food was typical German style, with German style beer (not very cold as my wife & I like it. I had a Reuben, she had bratwurst. Better than average food, really enjoyed the beer. Got a soft pretzel until our meal was ready.

We were looking for somewhere to grab food & drink.....happy to have climbed those stairs to the top! My mom is German & Hungarian so I grew up eating this type of food so I was looking forward to eating. My boyfriend & I sat at the bar, he ordered a liter of German brew and I ordered a German... Been going to this place for years. Just got back from a long trip and we met a friend for Brunch. Much has changed in a year like no more unlimited drinks (mimosa) on the Sunday Brunch menu. Ok, I can deal with that, but man was that a deal! The setting as always is relaxing and the service spotty.... More

We went in Nov 2016 and found the place to be very friendly. Having been in Munich, it was nice to see the decorating was very close to the various 'houses' at Oktoberfest. They had the litre beer and then some of the chicken and potatoes. All were done nicely. The servers wore traditional drindels and were very attentive --... More

I came here for lunch and enjoyed a great beer and good lunch. The Oktoberfest beer was a delicious amber beer and went well with the Wiener Schnitzel I had for lunch. The texture of the food was tender and had good flavor. This is a nice option for good German food and great beer in Manhattan.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
