I found that the food here is quite good especially the currywurst but in addition to being extremely noisy the service is spotty. You also have to hike up some steps to get in and unless you have a larger group it will be iffy...More

Ate lunch here yesterday with a friend. Menu caters pretty exclusively to those who like German cuisine. Staff was friendly, place was clean. Quality of the food was ok but not exceptional. We were seated directly under the sky light and I frequently found the...More

Had friends visiting and knew they would like the assortment of beers. But it was so noisy, both when the live band was playing as well as after, that we had to leave.

Fond memories of Munich Oktoberfest and the Hofbrau tent, however, a world apart. At first wondered if we stumbled into a tourist trap. Food was fine, service was ok and restaurant generously provides free meals to children under 10. No handsoap in men's bathroom and...More

Pathetic imitation of the real thing – Tables with seats not benches – Multiple TV screens playing baseball games!!!!! – Cross between bluegrass and Benny Hill music no substitute for a Bavarian ump-pa band and so loud you can hardly hear yourself think – Food...More

Hey stutt21, I just want to verify that you were at Bierahus NYC, located at 45th Street at 3rd Avenue. We do have benches, that's why we ask. Regarding ID; New York State law does not allow any bar or restaurant to accept anything other...More

We were very excited for an authentic German Beer Hall experience ! This restaurant has so much potential to be just that. However, it is unreasonably loud. And the music is not German. A few easy changes they could make would make all the difference....More
