Very nice brunch

Stopped in on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised. Great little diner style restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had wild mushroom potato pancakes with a side of bacon. My wife had waffles with eggs and fruit. Both plates were very good. Staff was friendly, or at least as... read more

We had the great pleasure to stay at Wyndham Midtown 45 for a few days and made are way down East 45th to The Comfort Diner. The food was well priced with a large portion and the staff were great. Our server was great fun and our food took no time to arrive even though it was busy. We had... More

What a find, we were staying in this part of town, but instead of our breakfast in the hotel, we wanted to experience a real wholesome American Diner experience, we stumbled on the Comfort Diner not far from Central Station. Great food, Great service, Great atmosphere. This is not your homage to the Diner experience, it is truly the real... More

My wife wanted to have breakfast in the kind of New York diner you see in films with booths and seats at the counter. A few minutes of internet searching brought this one to my attention as it seemed to fit the bill, wasn't too far from our hotel and had good reviews. I'm no expert but it felt authentic.... More

Standard diner, food was fine but the service could be better (maybe as it was 7.30am) the waiters care factor was not strong... Don't let that deter you as your here to eat to start the day..... Midtown east - it's great just to chill out and take in the world..... Quiet location in a city buzzing 24/7

I'd walk past the door unless told about this gem. Seek it out as it is a good, old fashioned diner of the best kind. We walked 12 blocks just re-visit 3 years' on and loved it all over again. Waffles and pancakes of the best kind. Straightforward mugs of coffee refilled over and over. If your hotel doesn't do... More

Very simply a perfect place for breakfast in Manhattan. Looks like it's right out of the 60's. If you are expecting ambience however, stay away. We loved it. Very good service, wonderful attitudes we stumbled on this place by accident. We will come back. You can't miss. Big portions. I had the hash and poached eggs. My wife had the... More

I often come here for lunch. It truly is a comfort ensuring place! I love the burger and fries, with a shake. If you need to enjoy good food, a fun diner environment, and love a bit of a retro experience, come here!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
