Okay, it's not fancy, but this restaurant is a welcome relief from high-priced locations in Manhattan. I ordered breakfast for dinner (always a fave) and had big portions for a reasonable price. Was even given iced tea to go!

Finally a place where a family can enjoy a wide selection of down to earth food at a reasonable (for New York) prices. After walking around the United Nations with our hungry and tired kids (14 and 12) and only finding specialty restaurants that no one agreed on or fast food joints, we came across the Comfort Diner with relief.... Great people with great attitudes! Food is good too! We eat both breakfast and supper! Restaurant is clean and reminds me of an old time diner from the 50s!

50 style diner with booths, huge meals and cheap for NYC. Could easily share a sandwich between two for a light lunch, good coffee is hard to find in NYC, so to save you time, get it here

This place was a real disappointment. The food was terrible. I had the chicken pot pie, it had 2 small (maybe 1 inch around) pieces of chicken. My wife had a salad, the lettuce was old and discolored, and the chicken was dry. My son had the kids burgers. We asked for no lettuce, no tomato and asked them to... More

I should have perhaps opted for a more traditional main course. The health salad had a lot in it but something was missing flavour-wise

French toast, hash browns/poached eggs, egg white omelette so, southern biscuits and gravy, or traditional breakfast....everything was made to order and delicious. Servers were attentive and everyone left FULL and happy with their breakfast!

The best classic diner I've visited in recent memory. Top of the list is real maple syrup. The baseball themed lamp put it over the top. Breakfast was wonderful.

We ordered 3 breakfasts and one lunch item. The thick cut french toast was tasty but undercooked. I ordered meatloaf which was tasty but mushy (I think undercooked). The waiter told us they undercook the french toast intentionally. I did not ask why the meatloaf was the consistency it was and can only assume it was undercooked. We wouldn't go... More

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to the UN tour. Service was quick and friendly. Plenty of good food. This is a recommend.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
