We were staying at the Hotel Pennsylvania, so the location, in the bottom of the hotel was great, as was the service and the meal. We had the Porterhouse for two. It was delicious and huge. Point of interest, the hotel was operated by Ellsworth Statler for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

We had a party of 6 and we're seated immediately, had a great table and an excellent wait staff. The food was plentiful, tasted great and the Managers Special made it more affordable. One of the best baked potatoes I have ever had, not to mention the size of the steak!

This was the 2nd time we had dinner at the Statler grill and the food and the service were great both time. I highly recommend the porterhouse steak for 2 , it was cooked perfect, tendor and juicy. Both times we used a Groupon and the amount of food for the price was worth it. Our watress was attentive and... More

Got a Groupon deal for this. We had a porterhouse steak for 2 and it was nice. I had a feeling though that everyone was in a hurry and can't understand why, since even though it was a Friday evening the place was not overcrowded Anyway, the place itself could really use a little renovation - its just not very... We have a dinner reservation. We purchased Groupon Dinner for two. It is a prix-fix menu. I have high expectations since reviews were great. It took a little while to see a server. He was pleasant. We order with no problem. My fish (Salmon was so overcook, when I cut it to eat it was crunchy). I returned it. It... More

We came here using a Groupon and it turned out to be the best Groupon ever. We had a Porterhouse steak for 2 that was cooked perfectly and delicious. The meat melted in your mouth. The Groupon included 2 appetizers, 2 cocktails or wine, 2 desserts. About $200 worth of food and drinks for $79 plus tip. The service was... More

One of many prime steak houses in NYC. Came here because of Groupon/Livingsocial offer. Excellent valve for the money. Big issue for any steakhouse, the temperature of the steak was different from what was ordered. We had GI symptoms from eating their tuna tartar. Overall the food was good but the service was indifferent.

Thank Charlie E

The Statler Grill harkens back to the golden age of the big band era, and is named after Ellsworth Statler, who ran the Hotel Pennsylvania from 1919 to 1954, when musicians such as Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and Glenn Miller played at the Cafe Rouge, the hotel's main dining room. The Statler serves classic New York steakhouse prime steaks and chops as well as daily delivered fresh seafood, while the bar and lounge serve a delicious grill menu. Located just steps away from Pennsylvania Station and Madison Square Garden, it is the perfect place to have a breakfast meeting, a meal before an event at the Garden, or just to relax with friends and co-workers during happy hour before you hop on the train. It is all about the food and service says owner Joseph Lavelle. "I want my guests to enjoy themselves, have a great meal and return again and again".
