At first, I wasn't sure of going to Junoon as I've heard mixed opinions about the authenticity of the food. However, after researching I found that this is not supposed to be an authentic Indian comfort food restaurant and instead it's a refined gourmet style representation of Indian cuisine. After trying it out, I have to say I was mesmerized... More

I need to return and try more dishes. We sampled many but to be honest I was not that impressed. The drinks are very well presented and tasty. It's very expensive if you don't get "wowed". I've had better upscale Indian meals in London. Atmosphere is romantic. We were heading the the theater and explained that early on -- and... More

We visited thus famous restaurant for dinber with very high expectations. However we felt that its overhyped advertisement. The food is good , cant say outstanding. Service was very slow n poor. Even after taking prior reservation we had to wait very long to get the table

I have never been to India, so I can't compare the food served here with real indian food - but this is the best indian food I have ever tried. Try the duck, for me it was surprising! The place is nice for a dinner with friends or colleagues, maybe less for a couple because the room looks very "formal".

Had been looking forward to going to Junoon on strong recommendation but was very underwhelmed. To be fair, we only had the fixed price lunch special and therefore I accept going to an al la carte dinner would be a different experience. The food seemed to be have been prepared well in advance and lacked freshness. It wasn't awful but... More

As an avid Indian food lover, it's sometimes difficult to find truly tasty food in some of the "high-end" restaurants. Junoon, however, bridges that gap between quality food and beautiful ambience brilliantly! The cocktails also have a nice Indian spin and go well with the delicious food.

Average taste as far as the Indian palate is concerned. Staff in a hurry. No tablecloth shows that they are cost cutting though prices are certainly not low. Located close to Empire State Building

We wanted dinner before our Broadway show and decided an Indian restaurant would do nicely. We made a reservation and when we arrived we were seated immediately in their main dining room. The menu offers two choices. 1. A tasting menu for $90 or 2. A three course meal for $60. When we asked our waiter if we could order... More

This is the best Indian restaurant I have been to in NYC and one of the best I have ever dined at. The mutton, shrimp, and chicken all had great spice combinations and amazing flavors. The restaurant is a bit pricey (you'll easily spend $70 USD per person with a couple drinks.). The nan was fresh, hot, soft and went... More

This was perhaps my third time for lunch at Junoon. As usual, everything was excellent. Good service, tasty dishes, refined atmosphere. Unquestionably, this is one of the best Indian restaurants in NYC.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
